Via Garibaldi 8 Posted January 29, 2014 Share #10927 Posted January 29, 2014 It's a school tripper. Still crazy nevertheless... I've never seen an RTS on the B9 before... First time ever... They love using those CNG buses on that line... The darling line of Jackie Gleason.

I know but I'd say that out of all of the depots in Brooklyn, Jackie Gleason is the preferred depot in terms of receiving new buses.

Well, them and Spring Creek are the only Brooklyn depots that can take in CNG's. Flatbush got new stuff too.

Yeah I know, but I mean in general. Going back to when I was a kid, I can recall Gleason always having a decent bus fleet.

E For Erica Posted January 30, 2014 Share #10943 Posted January 30, 2014 I remember seeing a 5200 RTS on the B71 at night when I was little. Then I said to my mom "The new buses look pretty at night" lmao

I think Jackie Gleason got a decent amount of new buses... Fresh Pond get hand-me-downs from other depots for the most part, as did ENY and Ulmer Park.

Fresh Pond get hand-me-downs from other depots for the most part, as did ENY and Ulmer Park. East New York still got new buses more often than Fresh Pond. But Ulmer Park never got any new buses (besides the XD40's, Orion VII 3rd Gens, & LFS). Edited January 30, 2014 by E For Erica

But Ulmer Park never got any new buses (besides the XD40's, Orion VII 3rd Gens, & LFS). Actually, Ulmer Park got its fair share of new buses back in the 90's... Same thing with ENY... I would say Fresh Pond and Ulmer Park have been the most neglected in Brooklyn.

Fresh Pond get hand-me-downs from other depots for the most part, as did ENY and Ulmer Park. Sorry, this autocorrect on my phone has a mind of its own sometimes... The only reason Gleason received 200+ new buses was to replace their original CNG fleet which had to all go damn near at the same time. -ENY recieved buses off the line new in 99, then 06-ish -UP received new buses in 98, then the BT&E batch (express buses excluded). They were supposed to receive part of the NG order when everyone was getting their share but something happened and that batch went to JFK instead (their 2nd set) -Fresh Pond got buses brand new in 99, then 05, then got hand me downs from everywhere -Gleason got buses brand new in 98, then 01, then 2011-13
XcelsiorBoii4888 Posted January 31, 2014 Share #10949 Posted January 31, 2014 I saw a D60HF on the Staten Island expressway today. I was in complete shock! At first I said to myself, "wait what....holy shyt what line is that" of course...blank dest. sign. Then I said, "to good to be true, must be coming from a vendor or plant", etc.
