Fresh Pond Posted February 5, 2015 Share #14253 Posted February 5, 2015 I forget, is 4630 an RTS, Orion, or an XD40? So many bus models in the 4000's range... On another note, there's multiple XD60's on the SBS Bx12. Must be some LFSA's helping out up in Westchester too. And if anyone's in Manhattan, can someone check if 1002 is really on the M15 SBS like bustime alleges? 4000-4200s...NGs 4300-4329...MCIs 4330-4702...more NGs 4703-4709...renumbered D60s (not all used tho) 4710-4799...XD60s 4800-4899...XD40s 4900-4999...RTS Shit, you're right lol
Cait Sith Posted February 5, 2015 Share #14254 Posted February 5, 2015 Update: The SBS buses that run on the local aren't actual glitches, just learned that they are short turns of the SBS.
Calvin Posted February 5, 2015 Share #14255 Posted February 5, 2015 (edited) With the Xcelsiors arriving at Ulmer Park, I wonder if the 1997-98 RTS will be sent to Jamaica to move 1/2 of the 1996 RTS to JFK or LGA Edited February 5, 2015 by Calvin
Hound Posted February 5, 2015 Share #14256 Posted February 5, 2015 4602 (FB) is at the Metro-North crash site in Vahalla. Was it one of the buses that made the trip with 4630 to (GH) during the snowstorm on Monday. Does anyone know how many MTA buses & from what depots were used on the MNRR bustitution?
Xfer2Nowhere Posted February 5, 2015 Share #14257 Posted February 5, 2015 Old Meredith MCIs...now with swivel seats and seatbacks that recline even if you don't want them to.
MysteriousBtrain Posted February 6, 2015 Share #14258 Posted February 6, 2015 I like how a bus driver desides to go to the pizza shop or bodega across my street, leaving an idle RTS in front of me for 10 minutes.
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted February 6, 2015 Share #14259 Posted February 6, 2015 Does anyone know how many MTA buses & from what depots were used on the MNRR bustitution? I have only seen MCIs from Eastchester thus far, which makes sense as they have a decent amount of buses that they can spare and their location is easiest.

There's been Xcelsiors there too, and IIRC QV Buses too.
Via Garibaldi 8 Posted February 6, 2015 Share #14261 Posted February 6, 2015 There's been Xcelsiors there too, and IIRC QV Buses too. Interesting.... Only going off of what I have seen on the news, but when shuttle service was run previously on the Harlem line, I've always seen MCIs used, even when they've done shuttle service for Tremont and Melrose up to the Fordham station.

MHV9218 Posted February 8, 2015 Share #14264 Posted February 8, 2015 7611 just rolled by Astor Place. Weird sight.
Orion VII 4 Life Posted February 8, 2015 Share #14265 Posted February 8, 2015 7611 just rolled by Astor Place. Weird sight. They do training over there. It used to be 126 Street and IIRC Kingsbridge or Gun Hill buses so maybe without 126 they use JG now.
paulrivera Posted February 8, 2015 Share #14266 Posted February 8, 2015 I also see LGA and BP depot buses in the Bronx and Manhattan training new operators from time to time.

Nah, they wouldn't train on a CNG out there. Figure it was a 2 shuttle heading East.
MysteriousBtrain Posted February 9, 2015 Share #14268 Posted February 9, 2015 Not sure if mentioned or shown before, but this is the latest from the M86 SBS: http://www.nyc.gov/html/brt/downloads/pdf/2014-10-14-brt-86thstreet-cb7-presentation.pdf

I was kind of surprised at the heavy usage it gets, but I think off-board fare collection will help the route a lot.

Via Garibaldi 8 Posted February 9, 2015 Share #14272 Posted February 9, 2015 (edited) Why doesn't the M86 go all the way to Riverside Dr instead of West End ave? My guess is because that part of Riverside Drive is very exclusive and wealthy. If you're living on Riverside Drive you're usually trying to show how wealthy you are and keep up appearances, which certainly does NOT include taking the M86. Now don't get me wrong, you have the Madison Avenue types that use the local buses mainly because they want to appear to be amongst the common folks, but it's kind of like having a bus running on Park Avenue in the exclusive Upper East Side... Not happening. My boss has a penthouse on the Upper East Side and takes the local bus along Madison and 5th, mainly to fit in and because parking would be too much of a hassle.
