Yeah man haha, I'm good now. Much more matured now; I actually want to get to know yall & start hanging out if yall don't mind.

 

Now to refresh my mind, I know the new bues started to roll in, I've been on a few of the new XD40s and the new Prevost, I just don't know where they'll be heading. Also, I saw that 8090 is @ ENY (looks a lot better than the older ones), where are the other LFS assigned?

Sorry if it's been noted before but its hard scrolling through all these pages.

Just check out the wiki page or the ttmg page.  They have all of that crappola.  Hanging out with me?  Could only be done in the city or in Riverdale.  I'm on Staten Island here and there when I need to be.

Damn, that's a lot more XD40s then expected. I looked @ the TTMG roster (forgot all about that) and I see gaps between the XD40 #s. Where are those buses? Hold on, are they doing it depot by depot instead of in order?

 

As for the LFS, looks like Staten Island is gonna be completely Nova LFS with the Orion VII 3Gs. I was thinking XD40s were gonna head to S.I. Gonna be nice to have some LFS on the S79 cause those NGs are half dead.

 

The whole Prevost order to S.I? Damnn that exlains why I've seen so many newer buses on the X1. I noticed the buses have digital run boxes and the back is different (looks better and more sleek).

 

Thanks for the update, so I see the Prevost order is around 256x based on Regional/Bus Moves thread. No LFSs have showed up yet except 8090. And the XD40s, I'm confused on how they're being delivered.

Now why in sam hell did somebody think sticking a frikkin' median right smack-dab in the middle of 3rd avenue (56-57 sts) was a good idea??

3rd Av barely moves at a snails pace on a normal weekday afternoon, this gohdamn is causing traffic nightmares!!  Dare I say, CARMAGEDDON................................

Alot of these Prevost units from 2490-2684 are scrambled

 

(as in 2511-2512 at Yukon, 2513 at Charleston, 2514-2524 at Yukon, 2531-2538 at Charleston)

So thats what the construction over there was all about? Thats extremely pointless, and WILL make things worse if they arent already.

Also, the older prevosts are mostly sent to Ulmer Park and before being there, they will be repainted

It's actually needed.  There is a lot of congestion over there and people get stuck trying to cross the street.  Would be great if buses could stop near 57th instead of at 61st. I hate that damn walk with Whole Foods bags or anything else when getting the BxM1.

What are LBBS?

Load Based Scheduled Shifting (or something of that nature).

 

Its more or less a modified shifting pattern on all the newer Allison transmissions (I think Gen 3 and later) that changes how the bus shifts, depending on the load inside the bus.

 

The thing is, the buses are shifting at a much lower RPM and its putting a greater strain on the engine, making it work harder. They're disabling them and letting it shift naturally...or as close as it was to before.

 

A good way to notice the difference, is riding a C40 from Gleason. Ride a 200-series bus (non-LBSS), then ride a 300, 400, or 600-series bus (LBSS activated).

I guess I'll try and go to brooklyn sometime later to catch that LFS or wait for the others to arrive, which hopefully shouldn't be too long now.

So today I was waiting for a local Bx12 at Jerome that got put in service there (it ran light from Sedgwick), yet people still manage to complain. This old lady was complaining that the sign said "NOT IN SERVICE" until the last second. Wow, you had a driver that skipped all those stops before yours and got an empty artic out of it and that's how you react? She did end up making the bus for those keeping score.

You know...it would be nice if all express bus drivers would dim the lights at night time...come on I can't rest or sleep and it's hard to see outside. These new Prevost have some bright lights and a loud annoying Stop Request bell.

Most of the Academy operators due on the x23/x24, sometimes I can get on an x19 and have operators who would.

 

However, the B/O's are required to leave the lights on during revenue operation, the basis - from my understanding is sexual assault concerns.

Oh really? I didn't know it was a requirement, thought it was optional since I usually see some with them off, and some with them on. They usually have the reading lights on though when they're off.
