Orion 7 2nd Generation 4168 in Pennsylvania (I-81)

Recommended Posts

Found this on March 29th, 2011:

Orion 7 (2nd generation) 4168 NIS along I-81 in Pennsylvania

Orion 7 (2nd generation) 4168 NIS along I-81 in Pennsylvania

Blurry, but still evident:

Orion 7 (2nd generation) 4168 NIS along I-81 in Pennsylvania

BTW:

I found a similar case on NJ Turnpike/I-95 where an MTA NYC MCI D4500 popped up right next to me. I did not get a picture though.

1) What could you possibly be doing in the middle of Pennsylvania?!?!

2) wow! nice / rare catch! I wonder what its doing there, maybe speed tests.

But still, how did you get in the middle of the highway in Pennsylvania?!

Perhaps CAT (Harrisburg), STS (Schuykill County), or one for the 3 Scranton based TAs wanted an Orion since PA is pretty much Orion-less.

I saw a milepost 201 in one of the pics, so it has to be north of Scranton.

The Orion 7's are going back to oriskany NY for Retro fit modification and warranty work little at a time. Cast sent 2 last week.

Anyone know or want to guess on whether that's an HEV or a CNG? Looks more to a HEV to me. I don't see any "Clean Air Hybrid Electric Bus" decals though. Also, with the number on it, it seems like an HEV.

It's a hybrid. Note the 2 roof humps.
