Joel Up Front Posted April 5, 2011 Share #1 Posted April 5, 2011 Cool video, but what is that curve at 4:35? Is the Hi-V really on the tracks for what is now the 42nd Street Shuttle and then curving onto the Lex?
mark1447 Posted April 5, 2011 Share #2 Posted April 5, 2011 From the looks of the video, that curve would be heading towards 42nd Street Grand Central after leaving 33rd Street. Towards the end your on track 4 of the current IRT 42nd Street .
BMTLines Posted April 5, 2011 Share #3 Posted April 5, 2011 Perhaps this might help - it is a map of the IRT as it existed in 1905. http://www.nycsubway.org/perl/caption.pl?/img/articles/souvenir-mapprofile.jpg

From there, the line went to Times Square, which was a local station when it was part of the original subway as Times Square had not yet become what it would and why there are only three tracks and three platforms there as Track 2 has a platform over it on the , with the line then heading to Broadway and becoming today's , and trains north of Times Square.
