Oc1202 Posted April 23, 2011 Share #1 Posted April 23, 2011 Found this on another Transit Discussion Board http://www.torontotransportationsociety.org/TTC_Subway%20Charter_11SEP11.pdf The TTS will be celebrating the 150 anniversary of rail transportation in Toronto with a special 4 car H-4 subway charter. On September 11, 1861, the Toronto Street Railway started horse car operations in Toronto. The charter will start at 10:30 AM at the Bay Subway Station and will be approximately 5 hours. The itinerary for the day will include exploring most of the subway network as well as a quick ride around the Wilson and Greenwood yards. Numerous photo stops will be scheduled, including one at Lower Bay Station. The four car train will also allow the Sheppard Line to be explored and photo stops are planned at a few locations. The H-4 subway cars, built in 1974/75, will be the longest serving Toronto cars shortly, surpassing the M-1 cars. They are scheduled to be retired in the near future when the new “Toronto Rocket” cars enter service.
