President Obama to birthers: Here's my long-form birth certificate, 'I'm a citizen'

So now that the birth certificate is out, Trump has a new gripe with Obama. He wants to to see The Presidents college transcripts. Trump said he doesn't think Obama was smart enough to get into Harvard. WTF? Seriously? I guess he needed a 5.0 GPA then! SMFH!

I read that in the newspaper yesterday. It's as I said before. The man's a fool & will not obtain my vote. But.... (but but but but) I shall enjoy the side show he'll create. Make no mistake about it, this is going to be tons better than anything Sarah Palin managed to stir up.

Absolutely. McCain was a RINO just like Bush and I knew instantly, after he was nominated, that Obama was going to smoke him in November 2008.

At this point I could care less about a person's social leanings. I just want a person that will run the country like a business and bring back jobs to the US and put an end to the outsourcing. So Trump maybe liberal on social issues, but if he actually stands on the anti-China stuff, maybe he has a small shot.

The GOP made a huge mistake letting the old fool McCain run against Obama. He was more or less Bush 3 and let Obama run circles around him on most current issues like the economy. Romney [at least might've had a chance on the economy issue] in 2008 would've had a better chance but the GOP for some reason rejected him and chose McCain.

Not even. McCain could have beat Obama if he had a different VP choice. They were neck and neck in the polls up until the conventions. And it looks like they didn't learn anything since the same insipid smear tactics didn't work in 2008. This whole "birther" and college transcript thing will only hurt the RNC and make them appear more out of it.

You can definitely say that again!

That is true. McCain picked someone that countered his 'experience', while Obama picked a senior member of the senate [though Biden does have his own issues]. But McCain was slow on the economic collapse while Obama seized it. He also ran a 'nice guy' campaign. Obama is not your buddy, he's your opponent. That might've been another reason the Independents went with Obama.

The problem with the whole pro or anti Obama question overlooks the most obvious problem. Another person posted something about studying history and I think it's relevant to this topic. You either love, hate, or are indifferent to his policies these last few years. History says this recession and it's aftermath were due to happen no matter who was elected in 2008. The economic policies of the US government, Democratic or Republican, going back for a generation led us to where we are today. Now we have naysayers coming out of the woodwork blaming this one man for what's happening today. The policies of Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush lite, are what brought us to this crossroads. You may hate Obama for his health or foreign policy. That's OK with me. The liberals detest his war policy. Conservatives hate his economic and health policy. Where were all of these geniuses when the USA was sliding down this slippery path ? Do you actually believe that any of his opponents, on either side of the political spectrum, can extricate the country from this bubbling tar pit any quicker? There are no quick fixes to this problem. I happen to think that someone like Warren Buffet has more knowledge than any of these buffoons setting up exploratory apparatus and as long as he's in Obama's corner I'll give the POTUS the benefit of doubt. For you historians out there remember there was a man elected in 1932 who faced similar hatred from the left and right. There were plans back then that were called "socialist" and worse but he stuck to his guns and was re-elected in '36 and '40 because of said plans. Those that worked he kept. Those that didn't he junked, I'm not equating Barack Obama with FDR by any means but do Americans really want to elect the party of Herbert Hoover to get us out of this rough spot? You know, let the marketplace decide. Maybe some people do hate the man so much that they'd rather see us all go down in flames before they would support him. I'm not one of them. Carry on.

This is about JOBS, simple as that. Peoples' pockets are hurting and they want results. The problem is that he promised too much and set the bar high and people expected him to deliver and so far he has fallen quite short. He has approved the spending of billions and we have little to show for it, which is even more troublesome when you consider the debt that we already have. Everyone is well aware of what past presidents have done, but remember he came in promising CHANGE and promised to do business differently and quite frankly it has been anything but. He's spending like a druken sailor just like Bush did. We have ongoing wars going on that is costing us millions just we did when Bush was in office, so tell me how things are so different with him in office now?? I don't care about the outside BS. We need a person that is going to create jobs, CUT the damn spending and get tough w/China about the pegging of their dollar and other underhanded shit that they're doing to destroy our economy. I remember during his campaign he talked a good game about getting tough on China and instead he's looked much like Bush brown nosing and such.

People are tired of the same old same old and they want CHANGE. I don't care if the guy is green. I want someone who is going to get us back on track and for all of those folks on here complaining that he's being treated unfairly lets remember that he got a large amount of votes from various groups, so that excuse doesn't fly with me.

What pissed off most people was how he rammed that healthcare bill down our throats. The people spoke and they didn't want it yet he went forward anyway. That right there shows me that he plans on doing things the same old way that it has been done. There is no change with him in office and I didn't vote for him the first time because he was all over the place with the promises and now that I see him for what he is, I feel quite comfortable not having voted for him.

Me being an Indepedent, I can tell you now, he will NOT win without our vote and most of us like myself are beyond pissed with the direction that this country is taking and we want action and he isn't the person to bring that change that we need.

Oh, it's about hate, and a dozen other things! If it was really about jobs the Republicans wouldn't not have threatened to shut down the Gov if they didnt get tax breaks that added another trillion to our debt! Wake up and smell the Greenbacks! And if they didn't outsource every job they could, China wouldn't even be a topic of discussion. For the love of money......

You are clueless man. (Sorry to put it like that) I don't even have the time or patience to address everything in your post. You need to first stop watching Faux News and reading The Post. Rammed healthcare down our throats? How in the hell is making healthcare accessible to the less fortunate ramming it down our throats! If you already have healthcare, or don't want it then that is your choice! Don't buy it! Plain and simple. Nothing but pure hatred has you believing those lies. They would rather see our place of birth go down in flames to destroy Obama's presidency than truely do anything that will benefit us all as a whole.

I can see people harping about change and I understand them. The problem is some people want immediate change and that, short of a revolution, has never happened in history. His name is Obama. NOT HE WHO WALKS ON WATER. He's a politician , not "the Chosen One" , and as such he must work within the system. I've come to the conclusion that the system itself is the problem. The president I referred to earlier also spent money like a drunken sailor but he tried whatever means necessary to bring the country out of an economic depression. There IS no magic bullet or quick fix for this country's economic problems even if Romney, Paul, or Huckabee were to win the next election. Those people who say we should get tough with China are those same people in the "red states" who swear by Walmart ( not you, Via). The same business people who outsourced manufacturing jobs while demonizing unions. The same politicians who wear the American flag pin on their lapels while trying tp privatize or limit Social Security for the younger generation they claim to care so much about. The same people who demonize the wage scale in this country and how we Americans are overpaid vs the rest of the world. The problem is that those same pro-business supporters don't tell you that in order to bring back those lost jobs you'll have to accept 3rd world wages " to keep us competitive". Yeah, right. The same so-called pro American business people and politicians who say "drill baby, drill" and then turn around and sell the output on the open market. Whatever your political persuasion may be my advice is to open your eyes to the big picture, especially those younger than me. Read the financial pages and the front page of a real newspaper and not Page Six for a change. The politicians and business elite are already planning on how to carve up your carcass while you're worried about the President's bith certificate or his college transcripts while a draft dodging phony has your attention diverted from America's real problems. Just my opinion. Carry on

My eyes are open, I just see things differently than you. For one, I don't buy this BS about "Oh, I must vote Democrat because the Democrats have my best interests in mind" because they don't and neither do the Republicans. That's the reasoning that "Democratic" voters have lived by for years. Vote Democratic because we can't let the Republicans in as if the Democrats are so much better. LOL

As far as the whole birth certificate nonsense, why should anyone get a pass to meet the requirements to become president?? Had McCain been president and his credentials were in question, I would think that they should be investigated just the same. No one deserves a free pass, simple as that.

Sure, anyone who disagrees with you is clueless. That's fine. We see things differently, but there is no need to call me clueless because we have different views. And I'm sure anyone who doesn't agree with you will be called clueless. In any event, your rant about everyone being against him is just plain wrong. Now, there is no question that specific groups of people don't like him for various reasons and some of it is racism and pure hatred, but for you to out and out categorize everyone who didn't vote for him or doesn't think that he should be re-elected as being out to get him is just wrong.

It seems everyone is forgetting that he won with votes from various groups of people, so if everyone was really out to get him, then he wouldn't have been elected to begin with. The problem is that he set the bar too high, knowing that he wouldn't be able to meet certain expectations and now everyone has to make excuses for him. Bush hasn't been in office for over two years now, so it's time to move past that and for him to accept blame where necessary. If he is re-elected and fails, I'm sure they'll be some other excuse.

Now you are just putting words in my mouth. Everyone who disagree's with me is not clueless. But when it comes to politics you definitely are! First off, Obama has done quite a few things I disagree with, so don't think that I am all gun-ho with his policies because I am not. But when it comes to the lesser of two evils, he definitely gets my vote.

As far as the birth certificate goes, HELLO! Earth to Garibaldi! He was elected president! As I said before, that means the FBI, CIA, DEA, ATF, NSA and everyone else already knew he was a damn US born citizen! That was a smoke screen! It shouldn't take rocket science to to figure that one out! There was nothing to investigate. It was a diversion. What the hell don't you understand about that?

And FYI, I too am an Independent.

mccain's citizenship was also brought into question by the democrats while he was running (which is 100 times more pathetic being that he was born on a MILITARY BASE in panama because his father was an official in the NAVY)....... was it because he is a republican and white?

*rolls eyes*

to think people are truly disappointed in our presidency because of his skin color really shows how black and white YOU view this world. obama is a typical politician; TALKING THE TALK but not WALKING THE WALK. WHERE'S THE DELIVERANCE??? oh right, he is still cleaning up the white house after bush which is the main excuse people give for him....... meanwhile the collapse of our economy actually is rooted from clinton's policies of giving people money they can't afford to pay back. this two party political system we have is the problem. it breeds nothing but CROOKS, including our precious OBAMA. WAKE UP!!!!!!!

I actually have to agree with you on most of that. It's just the world we live in. However, McCain's citizenship should have never come into question either. Nothing more than partisan politics. All politicians have agendas, but the question is who's agendas will benefit us all best as a whole. True Clinton's policies had an effect, but it's doesnt change the fact that Bush's policies left us in a ditch.

Great point. What sad is that despite it's corruption and issues is that our government in the USA is considered among the best in the world. What makes this era of US History in last 15 years even more scary is how money (it did in good ole days going back to George Washington as well folks)now influences every decision. My point is that there is corruption in every country of the world. Every government from democracies to diactorships and everything in between has and probably will always be corrupt.

I said IF someone's credentials are in question they should be investigated. I never said Obama's was. Trainmaster alluded to the idea that if someone's credentials are in question it isn't important and should basically be overlooked, which is what I took issue with.

What if their credentials were already proven?
