Cait Sith 9,630 Posted May 18, 2008 Share #1 Posted May 18, 2008 Just a little something for fun. If you were able to purchase past and present bus models, what would it be? Past - TMC RTS-06 CNGs and the MCI Model TC-40102A Classic and the Suburban Version Present - Orion V CNGs in both MTA NYCT and MTA Bus, Orion VII CNGs, and the NovaBus RTS. Ken S. 4 Posted May 22, 2008 Share #8 Posted May 22, 2008 From NJT/TNJ/PSCT and NJ PBLs - Flxible 53096-8-1 - Grumman 870, the ones that I grew up riding looked like Metro-Bs. - MCI MC-9B 5377 - Flxible Metro-B 3267 - R&T NovaBUS RTS-06, just exotic paint From MTA and NYC PBLs - Jamaica MCI Classic 608, even though I think there would be a waiting list for this one. - Jamaica GMC RTS - NYCT Grumman 870 since the NJT one looks like a Metro-B. - Command MCI Classic - NYCT New Flyer C40LF - MTA Bus (ex-JB) TMC RTS-06 Others - PAT Flxible Metro-E - Greyhound MCI MC-12 - SCRTD Grumman

TransitGuy 1 Posted May 22, 2008 Share #10 Posted May 22, 2008 Probably one of every model from the pbl's and some models from NYCT. But if I had to limit it to a few buses I would try to buy a Fishbowl, a classic, and either and Orion V or RTS.
tripleeye49 7 Posted May 23, 2008 Share #11 Posted May 23, 2008 On lighter routes, wouldn't mind seeing Flexibles (the ones sold to NJT) on occasion. BRTs on all heavy routes in the outer boroughs Citaro Buses (Bronx, Long Island) / NABI buses (Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island). Orion VII CNG (Queens, Staten Island, Long Island) Orion V CNG (Bronx / Brooklyn) Manhattan: Double Decker Buses (All buses on 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th Avenue & Broadway) BRT: 1st Avenue, 3rd Avenue, Park Avenue (ideal, but would never happen), 11th Avenue. Orion 27 Posted June 1, 2008 Share #17 Posted June 1, 2008 Pretty much nothing from the past for me. I would purchase 7748 VII CNG, 7665 VII CNG and 7750 VII CNG (7750 does NOT have a 40MPH speed limiter, got a video (well sound clip) of it bypassing it's speed limiter, does that whenever it's being floored. http://youtube.com/watch?v=H3y2bZtF7Qs Also I would definately get 9865 V CNG and 175 V CNG from LIB.
