Calvin Posted May 5, 2011 Share #10 Posted May 5, 2011 There are 4 questions about this R68 on the 1)is it going to split between Jamaica R46s and C.I R68s 2) Will R68As run on the ? 3) How many cars on the ? 4) Is it also using R68s on weekends? Roadcruiser1 Posted May 5, 2011 Share #11 Posted May 5, 2011 Are they 4, 6, or 8 cars long?, because I think there is enough R68's to go around to have 6 cars trains on the Crosstown Line if you move some of the cars around.

ipaclansite Posted May 5, 2011 Author Share #13 Posted May 5, 2011 Thanks for the comments! The one I was on, has the standard 4 cars, like the 46 sets. Otherwise these trains wouldn't be able to stop at Smith-9th, unless they only open half the doors.
Roadcruiser1 Posted May 5, 2011 Share #14 Posted May 5, 2011 Nothing really special about them. I see a lotta them on the myself. I am wondering how long are the trains with the R68's.

It is special b\c these are actual pictures of a 68 IN service on the .Not the there are thousands of 68's pics on the .Like someone said it is a 4 car train. Calvin Posted May 6, 2011 Share #21 Posted May 6, 2011 im wondering why does the R68s have to run on the ?
Roadcruiser1 Posted May 6, 2011 Share #22 Posted May 6, 2011 The is being based out of the Coney Island Yard now so it needs to run these type of train cars (R68's).
VIP Posted May 6, 2011 Share #23 Posted May 6, 2011 Because the is now a C.I. yard property. No longer a jamaica yard property. Simplest term is. The is based out of coney island yard so it has to utilize C.I. yards equipment. For example. The is based out of jamaica yard so the line utilizes R160s from that yard or in case of emergency it can use the R46s there.
