Pablo M 201 Posted May 17, 2011 Share #1 Posted May 17, 2011 Barnegat police: 2 sustain minor injuries in NJ Transit bus crash (05/17/11) BARNEGAT - Two people sustained minor injuries when a New Jersey Transit bus crashed into a business along Route 9 in Barnegat this morning. Police say shortly after 6 a.m., the bus smashed into a utility pole, hit a groove in the road and crashed into the house. The building, which is empty, was not severely damaged. The bus was carrying nine people from Lakewood to Atlantic City. Police say after the crash, one man jumped out of a window, but everyone else waited for assistance. "When the pole came down, wires on top of the bus [were] obviously a concern, the bus could be electrified at that point," Barnegat Police Lt. Keith Germain said. Officials say Route 9 remains closed between West Bay Avenue and Gunning River Road, and will hopefully reopen in time for the evening rush. http://www.news12.com/articleDetail.jsp?articleId=281714&position=1&news_type=news -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oops.... SirJokaPlaya Posted May 18, 2011 Share #3 Posted May 18, 2011 559 on bus 7509. Roads were probably slick, especially with the two grooves as the video shows. No one was seriously hurt, that's good news.
553 Bridgeton Posted May 18, 2011 Share #4 Posted May 18, 2011 Bus #7507. Driver wasnt at fault. The road was uneven while it was in a repaving process along with wet roads and fresh pavement can be dangerous.

KNIGHTRIDER3:16 Posted May 20, 2011 Share #7 Posted May 20, 2011 This could happen to the best of us but I'm glad nobody really got that hurt . Roads like that can one minute be controlled and then in controllable so it happens.
