6 Lexington Ave Posted May 24, 2011 Share #1 Posted May 24, 2011 Has the MTA ever considered upgrading the subway signaling with ATP? (Automatic Train Protection) I believe it's increasingly popular around the world and will relieve the system of the delays caused by signal problems. I know it will be costly, but don't you think it will have long term benefits? After all, the signaling system is ancient as it is. What are your thoughts? 6 Lexington Ave Posted May 24, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted May 24, 2011 I know about the 7 and the L, but I didn't know about the mainline IRT routes. I thought everything was done manually. Anyway, if this thread is pointless feel free to lock.. Two more questions though: aren't train stops a very old technique? do they have in-cab signaling?
