dmouse Posted July 7, 2011 Share #1 Posted July 7, 2011 At this station along the (my first time riding the line) I noticed the Willoughby exit was boarded up and closed. Its surrounded by a fence but I was interested as to why was that exit closed though? I googled it but couldnt really find an answer.
ladyjay114 Posted July 7, 2011 Share #2 Posted July 7, 2011 Was it closed and boarded up before, or is this something new? In the past, some exits & staircases were closed by the MTA because of safety reasons - either the exit wasn't repairable or that exit was a hotbed for crime. Fresh Pond Posted July 7, 2011 Share #4 Posted July 7, 2011 That entrance was closed in the 80's due to high crime in the area (Marcy projects is right upstairs of the full-time side, and Tompkins projects is a bock west of the full-time exit) That, and more people were using the Myrtle Av-end since the B54 is right upstairs
