GreeneggsnPelham Posted July 7, 2011 Share #1 Posted July 7, 2011 Hey All, I've noticed that there haven't been any pictures of NYC Subway layouts using the BAHN program. Now I know it isn't anywhere as visually stunning as Trainz, but I actually got my model railroading start with BAHN--I've created the entire BART System, Phoenix Light Rail, and the entire NYC Subway. I know that there have been different variations of the NYC Subway done in the past, but [without bragging], I did my best to make this the most realistic (in terms of layout, # of trains, scheduling, yard layouts) than most prior. I WILL give major thanks to all the people who did the layout prior, as I looked at them for reference and how they did their set ups with triggers, signals, scheduling (that pesky , , and to 137 or Dyckman was hard to recreate, but thanks to fellow forum member Aleandro B. for his help...hope I spelled that right!) Anyway, I just found a TON of pictures laying around the computer that I thought would share. They show different portions of the systems--they are a mix of pre- and post- 6/28/10 changes to the --so you will see both routings pop up in certain pics. Enjoy! Pictures start below! -A

GreeneggsnPelham Posted July 7, 2011 Author Share #3 Posted July 7, 2011 Whitehall, goodbye ! No more at 71st New Terminal New signs Broadway Local Morning Rush Hour in Manhattan---no joke! Manhattan Lower East Side--hmm is that the ?? I used to go to St. John's University, so this was a shoe-in Lenox Yard Continued below (Btw, I added another crossover track to Lenox Yard, from Track 27 to the mainline, bc the AI was screwing up the delivery of trains and I had a ton of collisions. Other than that and a minor adjustment at the 240th St Yard for a similar problem with trains, the track geometry is faithful to reality---thanks Peter Dougherty! GreeneggsnPelham Posted August 2, 2011 Author Share #8 Posted August 2, 2011 Very nice! Thanksfor sharing this with is  Thanks LRG!:tup: This was way before I discovered Trainz, but the complexity of BAHN definitely makes up for the graphics. My only wish is that Trainz would look at some of the ease of use in the scheduling, signalling, and triggering aspects of the program and maybe implement them in future versions. We all know that Trainz's AI block signalling system in general sucks, lol. But, thanks for the kudos!

Amtrak7 Posted August 19, 2011 Share #12 Posted August 19, 2011 NYCS BAHN layouts already exist!!! B Division A Division B div goes as current as the Culver work, A div goes as current as the Express pilot. These are not the layouts above. What I hate about BAHN is that it's not free. But there's a way to get around it w/o downloading anything illegal.
GreeneggsnPelham Posted August 22, 2011 Author Share #13 Posted August 22, 2011 Umm...I never said that prior layouts didn't already exist. If you were paying attention and read the first post closely, you would see that I gave credit to those existing layouts that I browsed through when making my own. And since I have not updated the layout since June 2010, of course the Culver work isn't included, but the 4 pilot is.

GreeneggsnPelham Posted September 12, 2011 Author Share #17 Posted September 12, 2011 What is wrong with you? We've been trying to answer that question for many months, perhaps even years before I became a member! P.S. I cannot find the BAHN layout!
