Favs:

R46- Love everything about it.

R44- Love the brake release alot.

R32/38- Love the exterior of the cars and the sound of it.

R40- Love how they were fast moving and the Slant.

R142A/143/R160 Siemens- Love the way they sound and move.

R62/A- Those cars can move.

The Lesser Favs:

R68/A- Love the way they sound but they seem to be slow moving.

R160A/B- Don't really like the way they sound but they rest of it is ok.

R42- Their appearance could have been much better if in GOH they replaced the carbon steel roof with a Aluminum or Stainless Steel one.

My favorite is the r-46 grew up riding those on the (E) and (F) love those cars lots of space. My least favorite is the 32 in my opinion they are ugly and old and need to be retired just my humble opinion.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion.

That said, nothing personal should occur because it's your opinion and nothing else.

A dying whale? LOL

To an extent it does.

Oh yes i LOVE it as well.

Favorites

R142 - Nice cold A/C, bright interiors, and the strip map helps me figure out whats next.

R143 - Same reasons but they have an air of mystique to them since htey only run on the (L)

Least Favorites

R44/46 - Dark interiors, boring (at least the R46s, I hated when they were on the (F) )

R40 - Ugly, impractical design, the straight ended ones I do like however.

My favorites were the R38s, although I must admit that I also like the R44s a lot too, although I think it was a mistake to retire anything R32-R42 before the obviously failing R44s.

Of the cars which will be here a few years from now, I'd have to say R46/R68.

The R143 doesn't run on Siemens Propulsion...it uses AdTranz propulsion.

idk what R160 you see rusty, but the ones on the (J)(L)(M) lines are clean and there arent any rust on them. only CI and Jamaica got rusty R160's because they dont clean them.

Yep, Jamaica treats their R160s like crap, both mechanically and aesthetically.

The new technology trains on the IRT are better than those on the BMT/IND divisions for some reason by passengers. From the impression that I am having, people complain a lot more about the B divisions' NTTs thand those of the A division.

Again, I personally don't have any dislikes, but considering the R32s and R42s are bound for retirement, I like those the best right now.

r42- grew up seeing these cars. nice ride, good audio quality, RFW of course

r32- being the oldest car makes it cool. These Budd built cars are one of the most long lasting railcars evermade.

r40- unique sant look. comfortable seating

r46- 75 ft cars are awesome. transverse window seats, bcket seating is comfortable.

Least Favorite

r44- these cars are falling apart. I wait for an r46 (A) to come b/c I'm afraid that the carbody will collaspe on me.

Neutral

r160- i have a love/hate thing with these cars. I like they are smooth and have a good standee pole layout and I think that the automated announcements are good. I hate that there seats suck so much that it makes my back hurt. I personally think that there are way to many of them

i always noticed that the train operators on the R68A do this thing with the brakes, they always keep putting the brakes on and off again and again

You mean fanning it.Its break-release-brake-release-brake-release its annoying.T/O's who do that suck a** when they drive. You feel a lot of fanning on the 68's/A's b\c those T/O's can't handle it most of them do it but not all.

Train can get flats like that.

The problem with those, is that they put you in a bind. Just taking a mini brake slows you down way too much, so any release and you fan it off. It's basically set up so that you're "supposed" to take your first brake in the middle of the station, but who wants to chance that every time? If you misjudge, you'll go flying past. Really, really really good T/O's may remember where they can and cannot do that, but most others probably have a one size fits all approach, and do not want to take that chance; so they end up fanning.
