This is pictures with the new DSLR I got (finally) and I am still playing around with it! Here it is and any Nikon users that can give me tips on the perfect settings would be greatly appreciated!!! Enjoy!

You should get a lens hood, it'll cost you around 20$. It blocks out any light from hitting your lens at an angle and will prevent any shots from becoming washed out (No contrast, faded colors)

That's a lens hood, you need to find the one specific to your lens, however

 

As for filters I recommend getting a UV filter... Polarizing filters are great too but are a pain in the ass if you have a lens with a front element that rotates with focusing
