The delayed start of the new Norfolk, Va. area light rail is now set for 8/19/11

Recommended Posts

For those of you who visit Southern Virginia Coast aka the Hampton Roads region, a big change is soon coming. The long delayed Norfolk area 'light rail' that was supposed to start in Jan. 2010 is now scheduled for a Mid-August 2011 opening.

If the light rail is a success, there is already plans to extend down to sister city in Va. Beach. So anyone planning to going to the Hampton Roads area later this summer, the first modern rapid transit system (not counting the DC Metro Subway)in commonwealth of Virginia should be up and running.

Here news link from a local CBS Norfolk area TV station.
