For those who missed the 2009 tour, ERA is doing it again! I may want to go again, this time with a fully charged camera battery. :P

The NY Division of the ERA is pleased to announce a repeat of 2009’s hugely popular day of visits to two Long Island Rail Road facilities: the Hillside Maintenance Complex in Hollis, Queens, and the Morris Park Facility just west of Jamaica Station. This trip will be on Saturday, August 6, 2011.

No Richmond Hill tour, unfortunately. And hopefully no more police helicopters!

Sounds like fun! Do they take you over by #503 and the old M1s in Morris Park yard?

Sure they do. Last time they just let us into Morris Park Yard and let us roam wherever we wanted in the yard.

and they have no problem with us photographing anything we want?

I expect it to be the same or similar this time. They basically let us walk around the yard; free to photograph anything we wanted (very few people took pictures as compared to the Hillside half of the tour, probably out of battery). There were employees posted at all entrances to electrified territory to make sure nobody electrocutes themselves. The police helicopter incident was simply a miscommunication.
