What Would Be Your Dream MTA Subway Car Rosters By Subway Line?

Recommended Posts

All Subwy Lines Would Use NTT's Except For The (Q)(F)(N) Which would use R32's R40's and R30/A's before the GOH Program. just the original paint schemes and how the R40's looked before all the safe guard chains where added

In my opinion, I would like it a lot if some (not all) of the redbirds can be on all of the IRT lines so people can still see out of the front and the back of the trains. While growing up, I enjoyed doing that so much, especially on the <7>!

Similar for the IND/BMT, if the R32s can be scattered along most of the lines I would be so happy!! Rail Fan Windows Rock!!

239th Street Yard:

Eliminate some R142s for R62As from the (1)

- (2) Trains will be serving both R62As and R142s.

240th Street Yard:

Eliminate some R62As for R142s from the (2)

- (1) Trains will be serving both R62As and R142s.

Coney Island Yard:

Eliminate some R160B Alstoms to Jamaica Yard with R160A Alstoms. The Siemens will remain in the yard!

Eliminate some R68s to Jamaica Yard to serve on trains that serve on Jamaica Yard!

- (B) Trains will be serving R68s and R68As.

- (G) Trains will be serving R68s and R68As.

- (N) Trains will be serving R46s (5 Sets) and R160s (Half R160As and half sets of R160B Siemens)

- (Q) Trains will be serving R68s (2 Sets), R68As (4 Sets), and R160B (Both Alstom and Siemens)

- (S) Trains will be serving R68s. (Franklin Shuttle)

Jamaica Yard:

Eliminate some R46s to Coney Island Yard.

R68s will be served on Jamaica Yard from the Coney Island Yard.

*Jamaica Yard has too many cars, so I figured out to exchange cars. Jamaica will give more cars to Coney Island Yard and Coney Island Yard will give less cars (R68s).*

- (E) will be serving R68s and R160A/B's

- (F) will be serving R46s and R160A/B's

- (R) will be serving R46s (Half) and R68s (Half)

2O7st Yard/ Pitkin Yard

R42 & R46

Remaining R42's for (S) service

R46's on (A)(C) Lines

Coney Island Yard

R68A & R160A's

R160A's on both (N)(Q) & R68A on the (G)(B)

Concourse Yard

R68's on the (D)

Jamaica Yard

R160B R160A & 10 R32's (sets of 10)

(E)(F) fully R160A&B ®10 R32's and 19 R160's

East New York Yard

R160 8 Car, R143, & 12 R32 (sets of 10)

(M) fully 8 car R160 (L) R143 and 6 sets of 8 car R32's) (J)/(Z) R160/R32

Canarsie Yard

R143/R32 (6 R32's 8-Car assigned to the (L))

since the R142's have permanent strip maps. the IRT division has no changes

if they had FINDs then the

(1)(2)(5)(6) would be fully R142/R142A

(3)(4)(7) would be fully R62/R62A

I think these assignments are really feasible

Not really, the (L) needs the special R160 sets that it has because it uses CBTC and has only one person per train operation, the 32s cant do that because they lack the technology and the full width cabs to properly open and close the doors.

I would turn back the time and use:

(1) R21/22 only (7156-7485)

(2) R22 (7676-7749) R26/28 R29 (8688-8805)

(3) R12/14/15

(4) R17/36ML

(5) R33ML

(6) R22 (7486-7675) R29 (8570-8687)

R21 (7050-7155)

(7) R33/36wF

Current will only change the 1/4
