I think you need to ask a mod to combine all 3 . why bring back an empty train 4p3607? For S Brooklyn just create a Brown running peak direction between Chambers and Bay Parkway. And the rush hours only between Whitehall and Astoria. And leave the new alone and call it a day.

rr4567 Posted July 21, 2011 Share #39 Posted July 21, 2011 I still don't get why you idiots hate Walder, he had to do what he had to do to keep the MTA from being destroyed by the "*******"s in Albany. what would you guys do in his shoes? wave you're little wands of makebelive and make $100 million dollars appear out of nowhere? You know damn well that the cuts could have been done differently.
Grand Concourse Posted July 21, 2011 Share #40 Posted July 21, 2011 You do realize that if we kept everything the same for Rail and Bus we could end up seeing more fare hikes. Im not really bothered by the service cuts. Maybe in the future when we see some financial improvements we could see an undo to some routes. I agree, there's probably some wasteful lines running that could be cut, but otherwise wouldn't have been if things were just 'status quo'. It was the cuts or a steeper fare hike. Finally given how much the dollar has been devalued over the years, I'm 'surprised' the fares are still what it is. Easily, they could've done something as drastic like the $3 fare as opposed to what we have now. So my opinions on Walder is mixed [neither hate nor support]. Shortline Bus Posted July 21, 2011 Share #42 Posted July 21, 2011 What I know dam well is there was no other way to save the MTA and that any idea otherwise is just a foamers dilusion. Yes Sir Kamen. Whatever you say (not) I dont see you going after Garbaldi who said there was too much threads on Walder leaving.
Amtrak7 Posted July 21, 2011 Share #43 Posted July 21, 2011 Walder released his last "making dollars count" report this week: http://mta.info/news/stories/pdfs/MTAcapitalprogram.pdf He's done LOTS of good things, like countdown clocks, the revised GO format, 2 new MTA websites, contract renegotiation and other money saving things. I didn't mind the fare hike, but the service cuts that had to happen someday just happened to be during his tenure. But he also made his share of mistakes, the biggest one I think of is the December blizzard fiasco. His departure means the B div countdown clocks may never expand, smart cards may be delayed, and cash-free tolling may never come. Lets hope Cuomo finds a good successor. 3 board meetings left! chrisliz09 Posted July 21, 2011 Share #46 Posted July 21, 2011 You know damn well that the cuts could have been done differently.if anyone here thinks he was the only one too do the cuts your lost and miss led, for one he had a vote on all the cuts and all the people on the board voted for it. we had too do something too save money and he was rite we had way to many trains going to the same places that didnt make since, its best too do what he did so we can save and have something to work with and all the repairs too the system needed money albany was not giving the MTA money and the FEDS took alot of money away so whats left? East New York Posted July 22, 2011 Share #48 Posted July 22, 2011 You're not a moderator, stop pretending you are and telling people what to do... It's not that serious dude! And from what I read he wasn't telling anyone to do anything. He said "probably." I understand where you are coming from, but some things are better left unsaid.
