Cait Sith Posted August 5, 2011 Author Share #51 Posted August 5, 2011 Then that means that 5852-5867 are delivered to Meadowlands, since the NABI order barely skips numbers at all. (ex: 5862 is delivered after 5899) I'd throw that up there, but I'd rather have concrete citings and/or proof about certain buses coming up and around the bend. Fixes and updates made! Gosh, its so tedious to keep looking back at info just to update this! LOL! Looks like ima have to get my RTS fix soon. jayden 973 Posted August 6, 2011 Share #54 Posted August 6, 2011 Those buses are coming in fast, damn. I rode 5867 on the 86 last night to try out those new seats and I like them. Not too bad, hopefully they last. Yes they must be coming in fast bc Orange is already receiving Meadowlands novas. I saw 2614 on the 92 & 2606 on the 21. 553 Bridgeton Posted August 13, 2011 Share #65 Posted August 13, 2011 Washington Twp in trouble! Just got done talking to a fellow driver from Wash. Twp and NJT seriously should have thought about having Artics on the 400&403. The reason why D4000s are showing up on the 400&403 because of serious crowding issues and more seats in the D4000s. Wash. twp is putting nabis on the 406 408 410 412 just so they can free up extra mcis for the 400 & 403. He then started to talk about how the nabis cannot handle the crowds and are too small. I think NJT should be ordering artics for these routes with crowd issues. Ofcourse artics are on the 13 154 158 159 ect but they letting s.jersey go through hell. I cannot wait to see these nabi 31s on the 501! The 403 which starts in Tunersville is a sardine can before it gets to Lindenwold PATCO. The 400 is a 166 in the south, you will see 3 buses back to back and every last one of them are sardine cans.. Even with the close headways NJT cant keep up with the 400, and no one seems to care. Tranzitfan81 Posted August 13, 2011 Share #66 Posted August 13, 2011 Wow...that was definitely my complaint from day one. I ride the 403 often and it seems like they have been extremely crowded which often puts them behind schedule. I don't like MCIs on there because it is an inconvenience with the bike traffic ( driver has to hop on and off to unlock the luggage compartment) but those buses are very crowded for NABIs. One thing I do miss about the old Flxibles is that there were seats when you got on. The same goes for the 400 especially when at times there are 2 and 3 buses back to back and they are ALL crowded!! I don't know why they are using NABIs on the 406 though, it is just as crowded as the 400 and 403 especially during the week. I thought the crowds were the reason why the 406 went back to receiving mainly all MCI buses anyhow when the NABIs first reached Turnersville garage. I have to agree that ARTICS should have been used on the 400 and 403 in Turnersville and even in Camden on some of the "Mall" routes (404, 405, 407 and 413), there are trips on those routes that are also extremely packed. 553 Bridgeton Posted August 13, 2011 Share #67 Posted August 13, 2011 One day I saw 3 406s with nabis, but what that driver told me made my point stonger. Idk what they going to do because it doesn't look good. There is no reason 3 buses back to back on the 400 should be basically standing room only especially at the frequency it runs and the 403 is just plain out under served. Wash.Twp needs 45footers or artics like tomorrow. Even the 410 is a sardine can. When the flexibles were there it seemed like the crowding wasn't that bad. mfs NJT459 Posted August 14, 2011 Share #68 Posted August 14, 2011 Camden County College's bus stop is temporarily positioned to in front of the CIM building because of a Ring Road construction project, the 459 is getting detoured next week... I like to see some 400s continue past CCC like back onto the Black Horse Pike to Sicklerville. I see the 403 more complex than the 400...
mfs NJT459 Posted August 14, 2011 Share #69 Posted August 14, 2011 The mall routes that were mentioned are Newton Ave's problem, including the 418 which serves both Cherry Hill and Moorestown Malls and then up I-295 to Trenton.

NJT needs to keep the MCI's off the 400/403/406 because these lines have nothing but strip malls along them with lots of shoppers [try carrying 4 bags of stuff onto a MCI with those very narrow doors]. They need to get rid of some MCI's and replace them with either more transit or suburban NABIs, of course, some artics would be nice, but NJT won't ever send any down south, they think the ridership doesn't justify the buses [that's a lie]. Maybe when NJT replaces the Neoplans, and gets some low-floor Flyers maybe they could buy around 100 buses and have enough to send some south. 553 Bridgeton Posted August 14, 2011 Share #71 Posted August 14, 2011 Expect to seee more and more D4000s on the 400. The simple fact is NJT main bread and butter is the north. You south jersey riders, just ride those northern routes and youll see how much better its ran. The 166 for ex. is how the 400 and 403 should be running. The NABIs have serious issues and they dont hold the crowds well. Just look at a 166 schedule. When I got down here I was surpised how sadly ran S.Jersey is. The 400 and 403 needs artics or low floor buses or even D4500s asap. The 313 i did a few times last week I saw some 400s that were through the roof. I can just imagine what its like working the 400 and i am sure its blood money. Untill NJT wakes up and smells the coffee the 400&403&406s problems is only going to get worse.
