These are the current Subway Car assignments as of June 2,2008

 

(1)(9) uses R62A

 

(2) uses R142

 

(3) uses R62 with some uses of R62A

 

(4) uses R142 and R142A with some occasional appearance of R62 and R62A

 

(5) uses R142

 

(6)(6x) use R142A

 

(7)(7x) use R62A

 

(A) uses R32, R38, some R42 and R44 cars

 

(B) uses R40, R40M, one R42 car (#4665 mated to R40M #4460) and R68 and R68A's

 

(C) uses R32 and R38

 

(D) uses R68 with some appearances of R40, R40M and R68A

 

(E) uses R32 only

 

(F) uses R46s and plenty of R32's

 

(G) is fully R46

 

(H) Rockaway Park Shuttle uses R44

 

(J) uses R42. The R160A will return to the (J) in the near future.

 

(L) uses R143 with some R160A's

 

(M) is mostly R160A's with some R42

 

(N) is mostly R160B's with one R160A set (8652-8662), R68A's and R68

 

(Q) uses R68A's with R68s. Some signs have the (Q) with (Qx) and (Q6) by mistake.

 

(R) uses R46s and R32s

 

(S) Franklin Avenue Shuttle uses custom signs on R68

 

(S) 42nd Street shuttle uses three or four r62A cars.

 

(V) uses only R46

 

(W) uses R68 and R68A. The R160B's have also been reported to have arrived on service with the (W) to help operators and conductors switch signs between the (N) and (W)

 

(Z) uses R42 and R160A's.

Lemme break it down.

 

R40, R40M, R42 and R44 are St. Louis Co.

R32 is Budd Company

R46 is Pullman (And Rockwell)

R62, R68A, R142A, R160B are Kawasaki

R62A, and R142 are Bombardier

and

R160A are Alstom/Semiens

 

 

R68 - Westinghouse/AmRail;)

i've seen R46's on the E lately sadly, they are all ready to totally kill the E

 

the D does not use R40 Slants on a regular basis, the 40 Slants are only on the D when they need extra trains service

 

i've also seen 40 Slants on the Q but that was back in october, don't know if they still do that anymore

 

that R42 on the B i don't think its just one car

i know but R46's on the E are still bad even if it's just 1, there might be a 0.1% chance i might end up riding it
