Queens village loaned buses to  west farms which is a Surprise to me because out of all the Bronx depots west farms usually has enough standard 40ft  buses to cover its Articulated and standard routes

btw it’s nice to see some green flip-flop sign Orion vii buses back in the Bronx

Are those in preparation for tomorrow or were they just for today?

Is there enough 40FT buses in the system where weekday rush hour service could be made WITHOUT using any artics?

This happened once a couple years ago. Transit has mostly gotten lucky with overnight and weekend snow storms, so this has been a rare problem. The basic answer is yes, as long as SI service is reduced (Limiteds cut, etc.).

Must be for driver training as well, especially since both Hale and FB never an XD60 before, so they need some units to teach the drivers how to operate them, as well as the maintenance workers on how to maintain the buses.

Really?

Just as a LFS options review, MQ now has  5569-5574, 5576, 5578, 5579, 5581, 5589

GH complete with 5531-5566

I will let this slide because you are a new member and may not know, but these types of discussions normally belong in the Fleet & Depots thread.

Planning calls for Yukon to receive 2018-2019 Nova LFS’. 34 for the S79+, and 33 for local/limited lines. The next Express buses will also be in Cuomo wrap as you all call it. Some of those are planned for SI as well.

We will also have a future pending temporary assignment for the XE60 to do a “Dual Evaluation Test” where MTA will test out electric operations as well as articulated operations at the same time on the island.

Thanks for the updates on the options. I will be going up in a few weeks to look at the former D60s turned LFSAs Numbers on the M14 & others. Are they wrapped in SBS format or local

The LFSA and Xcelsior artics are two separate bus models. They have different maintenance protocols and different parts. Employees are required to be trained on new equipment no matter what type of equipment it is. Reference posts 3170 and 3175 in this thread for details.

Don’t tell that to SEPTA. They have 2 districts with both LFS/As & Xcelisors and 1 with NFs & LFSAs in them so both buses are the same except for maintaining them. 1 will have 3 different models 1 of NFDs, LFSAs & Proterras. So each driver in one district will be trained to operate all three models. The same can be said for NYCTA. If a driver is trained to drive OGs then they can drive NG buses such as the aforementioned ones.

Which garage has their allotment of the new order so far and I want to say besides West Farms (which is temporary)?

All depots should have at least half of their (should be) assigned buses at this point. If they want to be consistent, it should be nearly 20 buses at a time delivered to each of the remaining depots and that's the end of it. We have about 120 buses remaining to be delivered.

So that I'm clear.. ENY now has 6490-6499, 6502. Correct?

Also, will some lower 65xx buses make their way to ENY?

6500 is at ENY as well.

Seems like the Google bus roster was recently updated..

I don’t think ENY get the 2018 XD40. They’ll probably wait for the XE or XDE40s to come into play. FP is sending them majority of the OGs. Smart enough for ENY to wait for the XE or XDE40s

It appears that 0016 and 0018 have been used for testing and training in Manhattan, along with charger compatibility testing. Over the past two days, 0016 and 0018 shadowed an XE40 from end to end.

0018 is currently at Williamsburg Bridge Plaza for some odd reason(probably something to do with the charger), but not in service.
