Just wondering: What's the status of the rest of the Aesys XD-40s (7594-7614)? I figured that they'll be out to replace the remaining RTS but thought wrong, and that we're up to 7811 for now.

Any hope of a spec change? There's already at least two buses with dead front signs

RTS will not drop overnight. Give it a few days.

As for the second quote, not even gonna directly reply to it as it's already been explained a handful of times on why hand me downs are in Manhattan.

Yeah.....about that.

Flatbush is down to 10 and Quill is down to 15. All of the buses have been marked OOS. When the last few pull into Flatbush in a matter of minutes, that may be a wrap for the entire fleet.

However, word is that Quill's RTSs might see service tomorrow, the NGs they recently got from Yukon are giving them issues. Fareboxes have supposedly been put back into two RTSs.

Why am I not surprised?

Because compared to the rest of the city. Those NGs have put in the most work, especially the ones that have stayed there since they were delivered. So it should come to no surprise that those buses would have issues every now and then.

Wow, just like that.  Surprised that they didn't do a media event with one last RTS run, they way they publicized Blitz Fishbowl 5227 back in the day.

Is any of the LFS's at Yukon trackable yet? If they don't get tracking soon, you'll have alot of buses not showing up leading to complaints and lost ridership.

Right now. Old fashioned way. Go to St. George and see what’s operating. Sometimes don’t depend on tracking.

I know, I was mainly talking about the non-bus faners and the regular riders who take the bus. If they don't see a bus on BusTime coming for a while, they might be more inclined to take an Uber or something.

I remember seeing in the transfer thread a couple weeks ago that museum GMC RTS 1201 was getting worked on at Grand CMF... Maybe it's getting prepped for some kind of run?

There are slowly chipping away with the new fleet from Flatbush to send old MJQ XD60 fleet. (all this for the M14+) Only the Department of Buses could do this to Flatbush. Before you turn around all the new 61xx buses will be out of Brooklyn and into Manhattan + Quill getting their own 61xx buses. Surprised that DOB is not touching MCH XD60 order.

Honestly, (MTA) should of ordered more buses for the M14SBS but this is surely above my pay grade.

Honestly DOB sucks monkeyballs wit this shit. Mike Quill just f***ing got a whole brand-spanking-new batch of LFS artics, FFS

The new LFSA fleet would not have replaced the old LFSA fleet completely to begin with. They'd still need extra buses to replace the local fleet entirely.

Is there any chance than the MTA takes a look at hydrogen fuel cell buses? Operating for 28 hours straight and 330 miles without a refuel sounds impressive.

https://www.energylivenews.com/2019/05/01/hydrogen-bus-drives-for-350-zero-emission-miles/?fbclid=IwAR1Hs_m1gqd3n0miLvSYyyv0bgB4S4eRKphbZ_DNu8-2eW9HkfqvLC01RYw

Quote

Bus manufacturer New Flyer says its fuel cell-electric Xcelsior CHARGE H2 bus exceeded the 300-mile performance target by 17% without refuelling.

The vehicle, which will be used by the Orange County Transportation Authority, used its hydrogen fuel cell to continuously recharge 100kWh of batteries, which powered a Siemens electric drive motor.

The bus operated for 28 hours and achieved an equivalent of 10.4 miles per gallon over 330 miles.

After running out of hydrogen, the zero-emission bus operated on battery reserve for an additional 20 miles to bring it up to the total figure.

During the test the bus drove with a payload representing fully-seated passenger capacity.

Two Shifters today from flatbush  confirmed with me that flatbush RTS were goned and we received a few buses out of Yukon.

Damm. MJQ has been having problems with the Yukon buses they received. Farebox related. You have an idea of which buses came in?

Not sure, but they were parked at the back of depot near the maintenance shop area. I heard these buses were not perfect since they have a history of break downs.

This is why FB should of gotten most of the Kingsbridge buses along with some Fresh Pond/Grand Avenue buses. Staten Island buses are problematic. However, Brooklyn division breeds the best mechanics 🧰

Units are back to where they were from: 4226 and 4228. 4229-4233 are being sent back to Brooklyn with the incoming LFS at Yukon.

Copy. Glad you did the research. So it’s safe to say they are still in Yukon awaiting to be moved. Sometimes @Calvin is too fast in reporting. Not to say he is not accurate with the moves. However, confirm before reporting.
