Obviously after the first comment I got that, thanks for the head up though. Very missing leading info as you can’t register a vehicle with out a VIN commercial vehicle are not exempt either.

so even being at the vendor which was stated would mean they are built already?? Unless we have ghost buses. I don’t care just stating the obvious overcompensate of egos on here with lack of real information. You are winging it just like the foamers you consistently try to attack for asking questions or making opinions.

"Consistently"?   I post here quite inconsistently.  There are guys who post at least 10 times a day here!

There is a difference between number blocks being saved and the actual registration with DMV.  The buses are registered with DMV when they arrive here.

Sorry I bruised your ego.  Man up!

It’s not uncommon for other depots to help repair buses that are not theirs. Queens Village repaired Orion V’s that came from Staten Island back in 2012/2013. I also believe at one point CP fixed RTS’s and they only use CNG buses for their local/limited service.

I just find it hilarious that when a decent amount of buses are being transferred from Staten Island and the Bronx, they usually have to be fixed up. I wouldn’t be surprised if those 2013 XD60’s that CS just received from The Bronx are in the shop right now getting repaired.

Staten Island was always known for having poor maintenance and when buses were transferred to other depots they had to be repaired. Going back years like to December 2007, i had come back to work after three weeks off and it seems that Staten Island had a group of RTS from various garages working the local routes. Right after that Flatbush sent 9382-9416, 9418-9429 to Yukon to replace other RTS. Those lasted a year and were then sent to Ulmer Park where work had to be done on them to be placed in service.

The last time that I can remember Staten Island buses having good maintenance was prior to the Mid 1970's when they had the Macks and later the old looks. The reason that maintenance went down hill after that was they were adding routes and did not have the garage space to maintain them, After all it took 20+ years for Charleston to finally open for buses.

They are getting New Flyer XD60’s. However, I do not know if it’ll be the 2019 ones or the 2017 ones that were loaned to MTA BUS Company.

It might be a combination of both. Remember, the M14 SBS caused some things to change with the order. The LFSAs 5567-5602 alone was not enough to wipe the local fleet out. This means that to ensure that there will be enough buses for the M14 SBS without cutting into the spare factor for the other SBS lines,  Quill will have to permanently keep a few, which means that they will cut into the 2019 XD60 order (nothing wrong with that), while Flatbush will have to receive the 2017 XD60s. According to my spreadsheet, I’m assuming the following quantities:

2019 XD60s:

51 - Mother Clara Hale

21 - Mike Quill

36 - Flatbush

As for the 2017 XD60s, Flatbush May get 17 of those units. The Quill fleet will be supplemented by 15 XE60s soon.

That's because the Staten Island maintainers refused to touch buses on straight time. Management had to pay overtime to get any maintenance done.

Will CS get more for the Q12? I know Grand Avenue is complete.

They only need 12 buses to cover all the runs on the Q12? I was hoping for more (around 22-23 at least).

Also if they really have to, CS can always put one of the 2017 XD60’s on the Q12. Yeah they are for the Q44, but I seriously wouldn’t be surprised if you see one of the newer XD60’s on the Q12 from time to time especially when one of the 2013 units is in the shop.

Based on the service needs, and what I have on my spreadsheet, here is how many 2019 XD60s Flatbush should be getting (ideally):

-(36) Flatbush

-(21) Mike Quill

-(51) Mother Clara Hale

Do you realize that this could possibly change again.. and not only that MCH currently has 55 XD60's for the M15+ and possibly more coming.

/Rant

Honestly, why can't people wait till the moderators get the correct information instead of creating spreadsheets on buses that a depot needs that they have NO knowledge of.. Everything changes everyday with The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA)  in the state of New York......

I know that things can change again, but these were just some rough estimates based on the service (current and future) needs of the B44 SBS, M15 SBS, and M14 SBS. I even had this on my super elaborate spreadsheet (aptly called “The Expansion”):

It's 48 XD60s to Hale, 29 to Flatbush and 31 to Quill. Quill should lose about half their allotment to Flatbush, once the XE60s are delivered.

I believe that’s out the door now. Quill has lost half of their allotment these past few to Hale and they’re down to 13 new XD60S, which would most likely be displaced by the XE60S later this year. Things may change but judging from the numbers this is probably the most logical thing that may happen.
