Wow they're actually trying those out... I'm very glad to see wide rear doors back. They should have never changed from the 1999/2000 C40LF specs. I will be very interested to see if they're anything like the New Routemaster plug doors...

Iron Valiant Posted August 17, 2020 Share #4786 Posted August 17, 2020 What I’m wondering is how this order of buses will be numbered. I wonder if they’ll continue with 8755 or if it’ll be numbered differently that the previous LFS orders. Either way, hopefully we’ll get more info on this shortly.

T J Trainman Posted August 17, 2020 Share #4788 Posted August 17, 2020 I really hope they do not start at 8755, this batch should have a different numbering scheme. However, if the MTA orders more diesel LFSs then yes they should start at 8755.
B35 via Church Posted August 17, 2020 Share #4789 Posted August 17, 2020 From that angle, it makes a 40 foot bus look like a 32 footer or something....

So that would lump all the new LFS and Xcelsior hybrids in the 9000s and the diesels in the 8000s.

Exactly what I was thinking because it leaves room for future orders... 9291-9499 more LFS HEVs 9704-9999 more XDE40s 6287 and up for more diesel/hybrid artics 4965 and up for more XE60s (4900-4949 also available) I thought they were going to reserve 1300 and up for electric buses and then they gave it to the Prevosts

It made more sense to have the Prevosts in the 1300s because eventually, the numbers would start to interfere with the existing MCI coaches. After all, they want to get rid of the worst-performing coaches, not necessarily all the buses within an existing range just because they happened to be in that range.
Xcelsior Man Posted August 18, 2020 Share #4795 Posted August 18, 2020 (edited) With the LFS HEV leaked from Canada, it should match what I designed last year. No longer, 2019-20. But 2020-21 model as a drawing. Edited August 18, 2020 by Xcelsior Man

The Depots with these buses will get them first. Grand will continue with the XDE order since they have 9500-9509. 9510 May start there. These LFSHEVs hopefully for MV, and MQ, maybe one SI depot (CAS) to replace the O73G buses. But that’s if they pick up the option order, but that’s another story.
MHV9218 Posted August 18, 2020 Share #4800 Posted August 18, 2020 Wait, why would we be replacing the O7 3Gs? We're not even replacing the O7 NGs.
