geneisa Posted August 7, 2011 #1 Posted August 7, 2011 Not trying to make a joke, but for the current/former Motormen/Conductors, if you are working on your shift, let's say working the J Line and you are between the 111 Street Station and the 102-104 Sts Station and suddenly Mother Nature hits you. What can you do to take care of your situation? We've all had something "hit" us at bad times and I was curious what the MTA says about bathroom breaks during a shift?
TwoTimer Posted August 7, 2011 #2 Posted August 7, 2011 Its not against the rules to take a comfort, at most stations there is some sort of facilities maintained by station dept, most crew members try to hold it until they reach a station where's there's RTO personnel (tower, terminal, etc). A few (males) carry a bottle which they can dispose of (usually t/o but sometimes c/r too), other c/r simply go in between the cabs in between stations in the tunnel when the train is going fast (ensures no one on roadbed), often waiting for express runs.
