R160 Posted August 12, 2011 #1 Posted August 12, 2011 Due to a water condition at the 145th Street Station: trains are running on the local track between the 145th Street Station and the 168th Street Station in both directions. There is no ( train service in both directions from the Bedford Park Boulevard Station to the Brighton Beach Station. There is no train service in both directions from the 145th Street Station to the 167th Street Station. In addition, due to a train with mechanical problems at the 42nd Street-Bryant Park Station: Downtown trains are running on the express track between the 42nd Street-Bryant Park Station and the West 4th Street-Washington Square Station. Metropolitan-bound trains are running on the line between the 5th Avenue-53rd Street Station and the West 4th Street-Washington Square Station. Please expect delays in , (, , , , and train service at this time.

There were lots of service disruptions today and most lines were rerouted. Why are (B)s not rerouted and where do they put the entire rolling stock when service is suspended?

Abba Posted August 12, 2011 #5 Posted August 12, 2011 Yeah, it's almost as if they don't want to run any ( trains... :mad: There are not many suitable places to terminate it.Probobaly the is using the track that it usually terminates at.And it's just a supplement to other routes really.Trust me its not like the .That they would suspend even with a simple signal problem sometimes.

Yeah, it's almost as if they don't want to run any ( trains... :mad: The is a secondary line, similar to the and , which means since it duplicates other lines, it can be suspended without affecting overall service. The doesn't just suspend lines to piss people off; it's done so they can run as many trains as possible without causing a bottleneck. Uptown trains are running on the line from the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue Station to the Dekalb Avenue Station." Even more! I'm imagining R46 (F)'s on the West End and 4th Avenue Line. And I saw a R68 ( train on the middle track and an R160 train on the southbound track at Whitehall Street! The (was in service because the lights were on and the doors were open.

There was a JY R160 sitting on the local track at 42 St-Bryant Pk / 6 Avenue (it was an ), the lights were off and the last door was open. There were some Transit personnel there trying to investigate what was going on. btw, I kept catching (M)'s via 6 Avenue. I would have gotten a shot of an R42 and R160 coming into W 4 St at the same time but my camera decided to freeze :mad:. EDIT: There was also a major delay in train service; I kept seeing trains run local their whole route. To add onto that, there was no SB train at N Conduit Av on the for 45 Minutes.

As an alternative, customers are advised to take B68 bus making nearby station stops. A lot of reroutes today!
