NEW YORK -- For the third year in a row, the (C) train has earned the unwelcome distinction of being the worst subway line in New York City.

The NYPIRG Straphangers Campaign disparaged the line in its 14th annual State of the Subways report, which ranks subway lines based on transit data.

This year, the (2) train tied with the (C) for the lowest ranking.

The Straphangers ranked the (C) poorly on scheduled service, delays caused by mechanical breakdowns and subway car announcements.

The crowded (2) train was the weakest in seat availability during rush hours.

*refuses to take anything with "Straphanger" in it seriously*

While far from perfect and having their own bias/agendas in their so called 'surveys' NYPIRG/Straphangers Campaign is the only 'real' watchdog group right now that can provide a 'legit' counter argument/accountability to the mighty (MTA).

And regarding the (C). Of course when you have most of your subway cars i.e the R-32's that debuted when Lyndon Johnson was President, of course there going to be breakdowns.

At same time though, only a handful of riders will ride the (C) the entire way between Euclid and 168th. The (C) is usually SRO only between the Central Park West local stops and the coordior between say Nostrand and West 4th Street. Everyone else is on the crushloaded (A) line.
