Exam #8006: Just got letter to come in, List #820

So are you saying that Seal has to go down to 180 Livingston St

to get this straightened out? prgordo #820 got the call for the

medical in only 2-3 days after he took the drug test.

It seems like they are skipping numbers because

this has happened to others on the 8006 list before.

You are right though, he has to stay on top of this.

Not sure if he gets taken off the list if he never got

notified to come in for the medical or for thee 2nd drug

test.

You think you have a chance for the next class(9/26) blaze?

If I were him I would. Ideally if my situation was like prgordo's who received the call the very next day I feel as though I would be able to make it into the next class as I have not had any medical issues in the past. However, only time will tell if I will be contacted to join the 9/26 class.

That is easy for you or me to say, but he has to do what he feels is most

important. Handling his dads estate isn't that simple, even more so since

it's not in NY. He is on the conductor list with a very good chance of getting called early next year.

We don't know if his name will be removed from the list or not. Is it really

true that you are removed from the list for not showing up for the 2nd drug

test or for the medical if you never received the notice and or call?

From what I understand is that once you start the pre employment process

you can't stop it for whatever reason, that you have to continue it.....

Sleeping ? ummmmmmmm no

Hey guys Day 1 at Zerega

Woke up at 5:45 am

Left at 6:00 am only 25 min drive

Found parking half a block away

We commenced at 7:00 sharp

all paperwork / 1 hr lunch / ID metrocard

find out training depot ( I report to Quill at 9:00 am )

short video /day over

* Paperwork felt like a do over application, everything you put before you will put again . I realized I had more criminal violations then I thought I did (loitering, red light camera ), last chance to be honest, I was denied Dual employment no biggie I told them I wont leave other job until I pass 6 weeks here. (to be continued)

So much for those people who said parking is hard to find around there.

I got confused, 7:00am is the report time for day 1 at Zerega.

6:00am is for training, but it can start as late as 10:00am if I

remember correctly. 6:00am-2:00pm, 9:00-5:00pm, 10:00-6:00pm.

They are throwing you right into the city, that can work to your

advantage. How many were there in the class today? How many

from the 8006 list? Would you know the highest list # there from

the 8006? thanks and good luck tomorrow. I hope you aren't driving

into Quill tomorrow.....

Dont get me wrong I got lucky with the parking alot of cars at that time you got sanitation / zerega / school bus company.

I wont drive into the city its 20 min train ride from BK i was hoping to use

ID but they said it wont work and my station theres no agent to flash.

a lil nervous I never drove a bus before, I just got my Permit when they sent me Letter for interview.

P.S for those with just a permit you have to pay for the Road test and you need the reciept when the training starts I had to get mines today at DMV after orientation.

hey, I too have that fear but it has somewhat died down a bit. After watching a few B/O's at work I have the feeling that if we just take it slow and don't do anything stupid (i.e speeding, abrupt braking, changing lanes without looking, mounting the curb etc...) We should be fine come qualification day. From what I've been reading I get the feeling they want to see that we can maintain control of vehicle and most importantly execute what we have learned exactly how we were taught to....I guess we gotta open up our ears, humble our ego's and take it one step at a time (haha you would think I qualified already lol, hope this helps boost your confidence it definitely just did for me lol). Oh and haha quill my mom lives right across the street when ever I'm there I get a nice roof top view of the depot.

I heard of nice ocean or riverfront views, but a roof top view of a bus depot? doesn't get any better then that, lol. They say the driving is the easy part of the job, but for us hopefully

soon to be B/O's it's our main concern.

Haha, I'll see if I pass through there and snap some shots and post 'em in the MBO section.

Good deal, just don't pull a FDBguy and stop posting after day 1 at Zerega..

we all know how that turned out...the DCAS automated line should be

updated tomorrow morning, it still has the last appointed at #461.

Loco, why don't you worry about yourself and not who posts on here or who "trolls" or whatever. I was on this site for information and not following what others do. At least I tried for the job. I've moved on now life is getting in the way of hanging out in the forums.

Seriously.

Too early to really tell but so far this bus gig is fun :P

Day 2 ( 1st Day of training )

Arrived exactly at 9 am (Quill Bus Depot)

Met the instructor got on the bus we went

to throggs neck BX , learned the pre trip

then lunch then basic turns and stopping at bus stop

no traffic no lights just signs then instructor filled

out our task sheets and once we hit manhattan we took

turns driving back to the depot pretty cool since it was

my very first time driving a bus practiced some ALSAPS

and left at 4:30 pm

( to be continued )
