Exam #8006: Just got letter to come in, List #820

Day 10 ( Day 9 Qualify )

 

Arrived at 8:30 am Grand

 

Just 3 of us + Instructor / Drove to 125 st

we couldnt decide who go's first so numbers were

pulled I lost so I went first , Drving thru manhattan

every possible traffic problem you can have I had

got a red light on a hill on Lex & 103 brutal after about

55 min was told to pull curbside I thought i was finished

Wrong it was breaktime :mad: we contiinued and finished

back at 125 st , Instructor said I didnt use my horn to

warn person at bus stop with back to me other then

that i did good so he's puttin me through :tup:

filled out paperwork then he sent me across the street

to train on Hybrid . ran into other classmates who also

passed and saw the rest who didnt not a good feeling

the other 2 guys on my bus , 1 passed and other failed

so weekends here time to party "Don Coqui" in Queens

Monday 10:00 am Zerega :cool: (might run into you Blaze)

OHHH MAN, that infamous hill on Lex and 103rd it's literally like this ... \ so damn steep I hate being stuck there especially since I have a 6 speed car lol...

Congratulations, prgordo!

 

I deal with Manhattan-life traffic as an operator at Flatbush depot, and it's become easier to deal with as each day goes by. You just need to be alert 100%, and it will man you up to deal with any scenario.

 

But, being that part is over with, get focused for line training, as you'll be dealing with the actual public, no more trolley brake, and your line instructor- who's another fellow operator at the depot you'll choose. It's a different ball game when you're dealing with idiot passengers. lol (I say it like it is)

Day 11 ( No Training )

 

Arrived at Zerega at 10:00 am

Waitied to see who made it on day 10

2 made it not sure about anymore

Reps for health benefits did a presentation

then the Union did their presentation

lunch at 2:00 returned at 2:45 and did

absolutely nothing till sent home at 4:30 pm

Tomorrow Zerega 8:30 am

then uniform measurement

 

* MTA mentioned the FAN BOYS that ride the bus and try to talk to us

and are very knowledgeable about the inner workings of the MTA

I filed for Bus Operator in 2005 and took the exam in 2006, just before I turned 19. Though you can take the exam at your age, you're not eligbile til you're 21 years of age, with a driver's license of 3 years along with a CDL Class B Permit - passenger endorsement and no restrictions (except for A3 - no medical). And there's no education requirements.
