When in the afternoons? Because I've seen that bus go in and out the depot for the most part this past week. It might be around the Q1, but not in service.

I know one day I saw it, Not early, but late in the afternoon It was going down Braddock with a Q1 on it.I don't specifically know the time but after sunset.. or later, something like that.

Then again it could've been training as they were training people on the RTS & LFS this week too as well and going all over the place, down Braddock, Springfield, 222nd, Jericho, etc.

(^Taken Fri 11/4/11)

Ehh I'll ask personwhoshallnotbenamed to see if it was on the 1 or just training

Does any one know for sure if the XDs are running this weekend? being they are new I heard they want to keep the "milage" down. Any truth to this?

Yes, they are and will be running. There is no truth to any of that. All the test depots are high mileage depots. So that blows that one right out the water.

I find it interesting how the delivery order is technically backwards...

Usually castleton gets the first 30, Ulmer with the second 30 and finally QV with the last 30. But instead, this time QV is first and Castleton last.

Even the Orion VII 3G's are going in regular order (Castleton - Ulmer - QV).

I agree but I guess they did this to retire the RTS from UP & QV faster. Won't be surprised if something like this happens to the 3G order.

I got to ride the XD40 twice last Tuesday and I must say, I LOVE this bus. It has fast takeoff, the ride is crazy smooth, it's got power and speed, it has good room in it and the back doors open and close quickly. I think the (MTA) would be stupid as f*ck to not order more of these buses. They are Xcellent!:tup:

After riding all the BT&E buses, here's my review of the XD40

New Flyer XD40

IMG_0120.jpg

Rating: 4.4 out of 5

Pros

- Smooth, Sleek design.

- Smooth ride, no fast jerking.

- Fast acceleration.

- Fast breaking, stops on a dime with minimal jerking.

- Roomy interior

- Seating arrangement is amazing, rather interesting in the rear.

- Standing space.

- Has the second most seating space in the BT&E program.

- leg room present.

- Kneeling function is rather quick.

- Is a little loud on the inside but not that loud.

- Efficient Thermoking HVAC.

Cons-

- Some complain the bus is way too bright, but hey it's all LED.

- 4830 had already gotten stuck while kneeling. Bus had to be restarted in order for it to come back up.

It's been a while since we spoke about the XD40's. Does anyone know how these buses are holding up? Also are they doing better than the LFS and the 3G's?

UP's delivery is being held up, they only have 4 bus.

Something has to be changed or fixed on them.(not sure what)

But they are doing the work before they are delivered.
