My fam has been talkin about going to Atlantic City with Academy and they've been nagging me with questions im somewhat unsure of so I'm asking here.

#1. Do you get $$ back (or casino cash) for a 1 day visit?

#2. Do you get to come back to NYC at any time or at a specific time for a specific bus?

You get casino slot vouchers worth between $20-30 depending on which casino you choose to go to (which schedule you take). Most casinos (with the exception of Tropicana) require you to be a casino rewards member (i.e. Total Rewards for Bally's, Caesars, and Showboat, Resorts Destination Club for AC Hilton and Resorts and Trump ONE for the Plaza and Taj Mahal). You can see the current bonus information on Academy's casino main page on their website.

You can return on any departure at any time from any casino on the schedule (as long as it runs on that day - i.e. 50% of the schedules operate less than daily). The ticket is good for 4 days after the date you purchased the round trip (it's basically good for 5 days). If I were you, I would show up at the casino where you plan to return from about 30-40 minutes before departure, as the buses generally fill up.

Also from a transit fan perspective, you will most likely get a NJT state-owned D4500 (the Academy commuter buses), a DL3 or if you're lucky a J4500 or a Temsa. The vehicle type varies by what schedule you take.

Also, the ride itself takes 2.25-2.5 hours depending on traffic with one intermediate stop (Cheesequake Park and Ride - GSP Rest Area in Sayreville, NJ). Are you leaving from the Port, the Upper West Side (92nd & Bway) or the Upper East Side (85th & 3rd)? The fare is $36 Round Trip, but can sometimes be cheaper if you go on Megabus and book there if you know what time you want to leave the Port Authority (same service, but the round trip can be $15-30).

I hope this helps.

Ah yes, this really helps out alot. We'll likely be departing from the Port Authority Bus Terminal itself. As for the return trip, looks like I'll have to look at the schedules closely. Thanks.

I could tell you about jake brakes and Vanhools B)

Skyliner leaves from 41ave /Main St. buses leave @Certain times but I do know you get cash back fo sho and I remember Airbus leaving @8:30PM and was back @6AM but there is A 7PM and gets back @4 so hope this helps:tup:

Believe it or not, that was their 2nd choice because Skyliner is relatively cheaper. I did hear you get $25 back in Casino Cash. I shall see whats good with Skyliner as well.
