Nexis4Jersey Posted September 12, 2011 Share #1 Posted September 12, 2011 These Plans are from Septa , DPRA and NJT , they are the long term build out plans. There are some proposals from some Urban Planners and the City of Philadelphia. The Tri-state area is supposed double in size by 2040 with an estimated population of 12.8 Million people. Most of the population will be along the Current and Future Transitways in the Suburbs of Northern Delaware , Southern Jersey and SE PA. The Urban areas of the Tri-state will need a web of New Transit to support there growth. There are reasons for certain lines like the Newark line which would serve a larger population and slightly denser then the Wilmington line , it would also serve the booming suburbs of Northern Delaware. The City Branch LRT would connect the Route 15 Trolley to the restored Route 23 Trolley , BSL , MFL and Waterfront Trolley , it would act as a connector line between the various services. Alot of these projects would spark an explosion of TOD which is just taking off in this region. Most of the Trolley Network is Scheduled to restored by 2025 at least in the Septa budget , Septa will also be getting New Trollies...according to the Budget. And in prep for the NHSL extension to KOP , new vehicles are in the works.
