two bay area notibles down in less than a week.

Yup. And two landmark/historic figures in both Mr. Jobs and Mr. Davis that changed their industries and the world as a whole forever.

Davis for those of you don't know began his carrer as an Asst. Coach/Executive with the Raiders. Later he led an investment group that brought the Raiders and became Majority Owner which he has since until his passing today (10/8/11). Davis is Best known for leading the silver and black to '3' super bowl titles (1976, 1981and 1983)and for hiring the first Afro-American head coach in the modern NFL era in Art Shell. Al was ahead of his time.

The biggest negative of Davis carrer was playing the musical chair of home stadium/cities as a carpertbagger owner (he not the only one so did Art Modell and the Oilers/Titans Owner Bud Adams)with the Raiders playing in LA for 15 seasons before returning to the Bay area in 1995.

In last couple of years of his life Davis wants a new stadium but stated he wanted to stay in the Bay area. Or he also was looking to return to LA as well since they likely to have a new NFL stadium by start of 2015-'16 season.

So in nutshell Davis was controversial to say the least.

With that said, maybe the last of the old school NFL/AFL 'founding fathers" is dead. A true visionary. RIP Al Davis.
