The long awaited casino at Aqueduct Racetrack will open this Friday at 1 pm. Anyone that's going there post you comments here.

So will this 'new' Aqueduct" casino be similar in size to say Yonkers/Empire City? I have yet to attend either place. Also as an occasional gambler ;) i still prefer going to Atlantic City at least 1-2x a year. Plus in my neck of the woods, Sullivan County, NY already plans to create their own casinos themselves.

From what I seen, it looks bigger than Empire City. When it opens, expect some shots from moi since I now live kinda close to the racetrack.

I applied for multiple jobs there, but considering they were only looking for full-time, I couldn't leave school for that.

I'll probably peek there one of these days, Ceasar's and Borgata has taken my likings the past few months though.

Sounds great, even tho I don't gamble, it's nice to see some new development here

@peacemak3r I went there and applied for a few positions, and got called for a an interview over the summer. Haven't heard back from them.

@libluefoxie I'm not a big gambler, but my birthday is this weekend so I'm going to try my luck over there since I live close.

Cool buddy look forward to seeing them. By way hope this new Resort/Aqeduct casino in surronding areas(i.e Rockaway Blvd) will also offer some new dining estbliashments i.e TGIF, Applebees, etc. since alot of these casino resturants and diners can be sky high.

You'd have to know the neighborhood before you say that....that area of South Ozone Park aint the best to place any of those chains there...If its around the Casino, then fine....

Not 100% sure, but I got word from my Father that before the opening, whoever shows up before the opening will get a $200 gift card for gambling use in the Casino...

Do you know how early you got to be there? I might go there tomorrow to check it out, and if they are handing out a $200 gift card I'm gonna try my luck since I don't have to drive far. Wish me luck!

Hope the weather holds up for the Grand Opening. I drove to the casino this afternoon in the rain on Rockaway Blvd. It's really big and nice on the outside. If I go I'm going to look for parking outside of the casino on Rockaway Blvd, because it looks like you have to pay for parking, and the parking lot is really big.

Hopefully I can attend soon. Also heard that the Home Depot is going to close right next to it so it can make way for a hotel (Lease is up). Not sure how true it is but I'd be happy to see that Home Depot go. I heard there tons to be done in terms of opening up more areas but I'm hearing very good reviews.

That would be such a TERRIBLE idea! There is no other Home Depot anywhere close by and that one is a hot spot for most of the neighborhood contractors. I know this because every time I go there, I would see them getting stuff from there.

I don't live too far away from it but there are quite a number of them not too far away. Theres one in Jamaica, Springfield Gardens, Starrett City, and in Glendale. From my experiences going there over the years and speaking and knowing some of the employees, it isn't exactly a well run Home Depot. I'll just leave it at that. Relating back to the topic, I just want to see the whole Aqueduct area used up, that place can use some of the crowds like back in its heyday.

now the (A) will be extremely loaded every time

How do you know that:confused:? Do you know anything about this topic i.e difference between casino and a gaming place? Right now it's only from what i read slot machines here. This is not Atlantic City at the moment.

If it becomes busy like Empire City/Yonkers Raceway then you right. For now i think beefed up (Q37) is fine for now to start.

I went there on Opening Day, last Sunday, and was there this afternoon. Its nothing but slot machines all over the place. Its called the Time Square on the second level, and the 3rd level not sure what's called, but it should be open by mid Dec. Won $17.00 on Opening Day, lost on Sunday, and today. The female servers are hot:p, and look really hot:p in there server uniforms at the casino. I even tip them when they came by with drinks while I was at a slot machine.

Finally went there, very happy that the Aqueduct area has more of a crowd (caught a number of races). The place is very nice and 10 times better than Empire City, there is a lot left to be done including two more floors and the sky bridge to the train. As of now its gets pretty crowded but Im sure when the other floors open it will be fine. Its a very nice place, the Bar 360 is awesome in terms of design. The food and service could be much better though. The machine layout is nice too.

Just tell me, did you need a Brink's truck to carry your winnings ?
