Due to a huge 3rd rail problem in Brooklyn, no trains can pass over the Manhattan and Williamsburg Bridges.

-_-... WHY?

Manhattan Bridge trains:

(N) & (R) via Bridge. (N) local in Brooklyn.

(Q) runs Atlantic Avenue-Coney Island.

(B) is suspended.

(D) trains from Manhattan run via Culver to Church Avenue. Special West End trains run Pacific St-Coney Island.

Williamsburg Bridge trains:

(J) trains run Hewes St-Jamaica Center. (Z) runs Myrtle-Bway to Metropolitan. (Signed as (M).)

(M) trains run 2nd Avenue-Forest Hills.

OK? This is also unrealistic & foamy. Sorry to rain on your parade.

NEXT:

In 2018, FasTrack hits the B'way line.

(N): Astoria-CI via B'way Express.

(R): Forest Hills-Bay Ridge via B'way Local. (36 St-95 St Shuttle.)

(Q): 96 Street-CI via B'way Express.

(W): Bay Parkway-Astoria via B'way Local. (Service ends early.)

Reroute service as needed. Remember, were dealing with late night headways.

This is a unique scenario. It's not foam.

Here is another future scenario:

The West End & Sea Beach lines are shut down due to separate incidents. The Culver Exp tracks aren't available due to maintenance.

Reroute the (N), (D), & (W). The (W) runs based on my previous scenario.

(W): Bay Parkway-Astoria via B'way Local.

NEXT

Current service.

Nassau and Broadway FasTracks occur at the same time.

I think you did this already. This is vague anyway so...

This is very similar to what I wrote for an actual Broadway Line FastTrack in the present day, obviously altered some to factor in the SAS (and assumes FastTrack is Whitehall-57th Street):

(B) runs all night via regular route to 47th-50th street, then via the (F) to 63rd-Lexington and replaces the (Q) to 96th Street-2nd Avenue

(N) runs in two sections:

Ditmars Boulevard-57th Street-7th Avenue

Whitehall Street-Coney Island

(Q) is shortened to 300' trains and runs via the (J) from Essex Street-Broad Street, then via Montauge and the (R) to DeKalb Avenue, then via regular route to Coney Island.

(R) shuttle is extended to Atlantic-Pacific

(1)(2)(3) on the 7th Avenue line have increased headways to accommodate the Broadway line being shut down, with the (3) running all night to New Lots and the (4) running to Utica Avenue ( (1) and (2) run local as usual)).

Can we not turn this into a flame war and get this enjoyable thread locked?

I'm not trying to... continue.

The closure includes the 60 Street stations.

The reason I had the closure starting at 57th was so that Lexington Avenue was accessible for those going to 14th and points further south.

With the 60th street stations included, it would then go like this:

(B) runs all night via regular route to 47th-50th Streets, then via the (F) to 63rd and replacing the (Q) from 63rd-Lexington to 96th Street-2nd Avenue.

(M) runs all night to 71st-Continental OR 96th Street-2nd Avenue (same route as (B) after 47th-50th), also replacing the (Q) in the latter case.

(N) runs in two sections:

Ditmars Boulevars-Queensboro Plaza

Whitehall Street-Coney Island

(Q) is shortened to 300' trains and runs via the (J) from Essex-Delancey Streets-Broad Street and then via the Montauge tunnel to DeKalb Avenue and then regular route.

(R) shuttle is extended to Atlantic Avenue-Pacific Street

(1) and (2) run normal service

(3) runs all night to New Lots Avenue

(4) and (5) run all night to Utica Avenue (express in Brooklyn)

(6) is extended to Bowling Green

Extra (7) trains operate 74th-Roosevelt Avenue-Times Square. These trains skip 69th Street as necessary.

Next up:

The work car is occupying the 6 Av Local tracks, and the Track inspection car, the Express. Go.

Alright...

(B): Suspended.

(D): Via 8th Avenue Express, West 4th Street-59th Street

(E): Slightly reduced service, use (F). Express late nights.

(F): Via 8th Avenue Local, West 4th Street-36 Street, Queens. Local in Queens.

(M): Chambers Street-Metro Avenue. Transfer to (F) at Delancey Street.

(R): Runs all night to 71 Avenue.

That could really use a check on the track map: the (D) can't get to the Manhattan Bridge from 8 Av.

My solution (in essence, 6 Av is closed):

(B) Trains operate in two sections:

.........Bedford Park Bl to 34 St/Herald Sq

.........71/Continental Av to Brighton Beach, via the (R) in Queens and (Q) in Manhattan. Replaces the (M) in Queens.

(C) Trains run express between 59 St and Canal St.

(D) No trains between West 4 St and 34 St / Herald Sq. Transfer between sections via the A, C, E, or F.

(F) Trains run via the (E) in both directions between Roosevelt Av and West 4 St.

(M) Trains run to Chambers St. Transfer at Canal St for (B) service for nearby stations.

NEXT

Due to a track condition, 6 Av can only fit 5 tph per track.

It can...

It swiches after Bway-Lafayette, and then goes onto 8th.

E service suspended From Queens Plaza - West 4th. Use M for service in Manhattan

Reroute M&B on the 8th Ave. line

F&D run on 6th with reduced service, @ slower speeds

2 - 3 tph each track should do

How would the (E) turn around at West 4 St? How would the B run from 8 Av to the Manhattan Bridge? Reducing F service from 15 tph to 3 tph is very unrealistic...
