Here's one: What if the (E) was shut down for an entire weekend?

Every weekend, one weekend end death threat will be at your door. Every weekend, you will be asking the holy one for mercy.

I think they should have left the J the way it was prior to 1977. After they tore it down it was a ghost town.

I would want to do as much of the 1939 map as possible to get to areas not reached by subway ( Little Neck, Queens Village, Lauerlton, Rochdale College Point, Hunts Pt, Throggs Neck, etc).

S/F,

CEYA!

That's more than one platform, you know...

(4) No trains between Brooklyn Bridge and 86 St. Some northbound trains terminate at Wall St and use the diamond, others terminate at Bowling Green and wrong-rail via the loop.

(5) Trains run via the (2) in both directions in Manhattan.

(6) No trains south of 59 St. The last stop on some southbound trains is 86 St.

(7) No trains south of Hunterspoint Av.

(S) Suspended.

NEXT

Because of a structural failure, all express tracks are unusable at W4 St. The local tracks are not affected.

Suspend the (A) is quite a big move if you ask me.

The (B)(D)(F) can't all run on the 6 Av Local.

As for the no express on West 4th scenario, as I would do it:

(A) local from 59th-Canal Street

(B) and (C) are suspended

(D) runs in two parts:

205th Street-34th Street via regular route

57th Street and 7th Avenue-Coney Island via Broadway Line to Atlantic-Pacific, then regular route

Transfer at 34th Street between the two divisions

(E) and (F) run normal service

(M) runs all times in Manhattan and is rerouted to 168th Street to replace the (B) after 47-50th and (C) from Columbus Circle (except overnights, when it runs its normal shuttle route).

All (N) trains run via the Montauge tunnel and make all (R) stops from Canal Street-DeKalb Avenue to accommodate the (D) running via Broadway express.

Son of a gun, we got smoke at the Fulton Street Station all over the (A)(C) platform. As a precaution, trains can not stop within one stop of here, with a few obvious exceptions, of course.

(A)(C) Trains can stop at High and Chambers Sts.

(J)(Z) Trains can NOT stop at Broad or Chambers Sts.

(2)(3) Trains can NOT stop at Wall St, but they CAN at Park Pl.

(4)(5) Trains can NOT stop at Wall St or Brooklyn Br.

Since trains CAN go through, but not stop, here goes:

(A)(C) skip Chambers and Fulton Street

Last stop on (E) is Canal Street-6th Avenue

Last stop on (J) is Canal Street-Centre Street

(2)(3)(4)(5) skip Fulton Street and Wall Street on their respective lines. (4)(5) also skip Brooklyn Bridge, last stop on (6) is Canal Street-Lafayette Street.

(N) and (Q) run via the Montauge tunnel to absorb passengers from affected stations. Transfer at Court Street or Atlantic-Pacific between the N/Q/R and (2)(3)(4)(5) OR at Jay Street-Metrotech between the (N)(Q)(R) and (A)(C)(F)

Next:

The express tracks on the 8th Avenue/CPW line inside 59th Street-Columbus Circle station can't be used due to a rail condition.
