Anyone ready for the long-needed (J) train fastrack next week?

How do you know they're going to tackle Chambers St?

since the D fastrack is coming back what are they gonna do on friday 4/12 since they yankees have a home game?  the first 4 days are fine since they are in Cleveland.

Doesn't affect it since Yankees game is on Friday and FASTRACK ends Friday morning 5AM.

I think they going to tackle Chambers Street because it is in shambles. Lots of work needed to be done there.

So we have to wait and see what the MTA does with it

Now everyone remembered the 8 Avenue FASTRACK, right? When the (A) went down the (F) line..why didn't (E) trains do what they did around 1972-1973, and then again in 2009-2010? Why didn't (E) trains go down the (N) local line and terminated at Whitehall Street when there was FASTRACK work on the 8 Avenue line? If customers wanted World Trade Center they could have used the nearby Cortlandt Street Station. It made no sense to send them down 6 .

They used to do that when there was work on 53rd St. and particularly before 63rd opened. There was nowhere else for them to go (other than Crosstown, which would be way out of the way). 6th ave. is closer to the proper route, and it can get back to its route at W4 (or go from there to 2AV, yet still have the transfer at W4).

The future schedule of the fastrack work is:

- Weekend of April 20th

No service between Stillwell Av and Bay Pkwy d.png /86 St n.png stations.

-May 6th-10th: No trains between 95 St and 36 St n.png trains are rerouted via the d.png in both directions between Stillwell Av and 36 St

- Weekend of May 18th

No service between Stillwell Av and Bay Pkwy d.png /86 St n.png stations.

-May 20th-24th (4)(5) (6)  Trains run local in both directions between Grand Central-42 St to 125 St (this is the most painless fastrack but will add some time for those who rely on the express service and give the Lex Local riders between those stations extra service)

-June 3rd-7th Queens Blvd Fastrack

-June 10th-14th (A) line 168th- 207th st

-June 17th-21st Broadway Fastrack (I noticed that Broadway is getting fastrack nearly every month)

On MTA website "planned service changes"

I thought that they would shut the (N) between 59th street and Stillwell Ave by using shuttle buses to replace it. It is outdoors and according to the MTA saying due to employee safety.

I also though that the MTA would run a FASTRACK SPECIAL B9 during late nights between 4 Av and Mcdonald Av. I can see why the MTA would run a (N) shuttle instead on suspending Sea Beach Service. It would been better to serve train service on the Sea Beach line than rather abusing customers with no train service since no work is going to be done on that line since it's outdoors. Also running buses to replace Sea Beach train service would cost more money than shuttle train service. It will also cause less inconvience between customers.

Could an employee please clarify the overnight outdoor work restriction? I know that non-emergency work on elevateds is absolutely prohibited for safety reasons. But what about places where the track is on solid ground and there is no risk of the workers falling (such as embankments, grade level, and open cuts)?

can someone explain the 4th ave fastrack to me cause the ta either made it confusing or a mistake.

Basically it just shutting down the (R) shuttle route. From 10pm-Midnight the (R) is rerouted to 9th avenue one stop after 36th street

The (N) is running two routes

1) Astoria- Coney Island via the (D) after 36th street

2) "Shuttle" (N) service between Stillwell Ave and 8th Avenue

Shuttle Buses replaces the (R) shuttle between 95th st-36th street
