Cait Sith Posted December 22, 2015 Share #1026 Posted December 22, 2015 Did anyone notice that they said B44 LIMITED instead of SBS in that link???
Q43LTD Posted December 22, 2015 Share #1027 Posted December 22, 2015 Lol. True. About the , they should have it terminate at Hoyt-Schemerhorn. I'm sad that they don't have the Fastrack to Jamaica Center. It needs to happen again. They don't have the to 179 Fast track either Did anyone notice that they said B44 LIMITED instead of SBS in that link??? I did too
Daniel The Cool Posted December 22, 2015 Share #1028 Posted December 22, 2015 Did anyone notice that they said B44 LIMITED instead of SBS in that link??? I mean they technically can call it the B44 LIMITED since the B44 SBS doesn't run 24/7 and when they first did that Fastrack in 2013, the B44 LIMITED was actually the Shuttle Bus for the Fastrack which is probably why they still said B44 LIMITED
Eric B Posted December 22, 2015 Share #1029 Posted December 22, 2015 They still won't expand to Queens Blvd north of Roosevelt, or weekends (which was tried once) on certain outdoor lines. So all the work (both routine maintenance and special work, or even increased maintenance due to problems) being done in these areas they insist on forcing inder traffic, with increasingly restrictive flagging rules.

Around the Horn Posted February 21, 2016 Share #1032 Posted February 21, 2016 How is someone supposed to get to the shuttle if its only stopping at Queensbridge, Roosevelt Island and 63 St? I've already got a nick name for it: The shuttle to nowhere.

Union Tpke Posted February 21, 2016 Share #1035 Posted February 21, 2016 What from The Tunnel to Nowhere. The 63rd Street Tunnel let people off at 21-Queensbridge in the middle of nowhere with no connections to any other line.

Eric B Posted February 21, 2016 Share #1038 Posted February 21, 2016 Oh yeah why would they do that. Simply because it was part of a future expansion. (Which did finally open12 years later). The same with the current segment of the Second Ave. line, which used to be known as the "Stubway". It's really just the first phase of a whole line.

The same with the current segment of the Second Ave. line, which used to be known as the "Stubway". It's really just the first phase of a whole line. Originally, Queensbridge wasn't supposed to be a stop. It was only put in after community support. If it hadn't been built, the stop at Northern would have been built, and it would have served a purpose.
bstar1 Posted February 21, 2016 Share #1040 Posted February 21, 2016 Transfer to the 4/5/6 or N/R at 63 Street. That's not a free transfer connection have to Exit and walk to another station and pay again.

Eric B Posted February 22, 2016 Share #1043 Posted February 22, 2016 And they need to, with the major signal project going, on, rather than forcing all that work under traffic (With slow speeds).

I just thought of something, they can use the Q44 articulated buses for the shuttles.
Union Tpke Posted March 30, 2016 Share #1046 Posted March 30, 2016 Do any of you know how passengers are responding to Fastrack? Obviously it is a successful and useful program, but I would understand if passengers wouldn't understand this.
Caelestor Posted March 30, 2016 Share #1047 Posted March 30, 2016 Interestingly enough, Fastrack is probably better than weekend constructions/reroutes for the general user: Weekend ridership has been going up dramatically, while weekday late nights are probably the least busiest time, since people need to sleep then, so Fastrack affects fewer people. Shutting down a line is way easier to communicate than reroutes, especially since multiple changes occur every weekend and the subway map is basically redrawn completely.
TheNewYorkElevated Posted May 7, 2016 Share #1048 Posted May 7, 2016 The and will be running on the express track on the Culver line until Church Avenue. The 2 lines will run express after stopping at their transfer station. It will take place in 2 weeks. http://web.mta.info/nyct/service/fastrackSchedule2016.htm This will be an interesting Fastrack G.O. that will be documented by many railfans.

Actually, the will be cut back to Hoyt-Schermerhorn (as always) since it's impossible to go express entirely from Church Av without going off-route.
