trainfan22 Posted November 20, 2011 Share #3 Posted November 20, 2011 Awesome! I always wanted to see this happen, I know at one point the PBL Orion V CNGs were quite fast, wheres the 15-1600 O-V @ LIB are kinda slow. Since Nassau County is kinda suburban and LIB schedule is unrealistic, means that epic rides could be had on these buses!

Orion VII 4 Life Posted November 21, 2011 Share #8 Posted November 21, 2011 Guess since some LIB Orion Vs are in the city for repair they needed something to replace 'em temporarily. They should have sent out the C40LFs, now THAT would be awesome to see in LIB's final days! I hope NICE isn't actually buying these or anything. East New York Posted November 21, 2011 Share #12 Posted November 21, 2011 Can't wait for them to hit service!!! A few are in service now. How exactly can Nassau or Veolia afford to buy these buses from the ? LIB is borrowing these buses. The LIB Orion V CNG's are loaners so LI can get their current fleet inspection ready. Joel Up Front Posted November 21, 2011 Share #13 Posted November 21, 2011 720, 721, and 724 were on the N16 and 43. Can't remember those numbers, but one of the higher 9800s (9868?) is in there as well. I think 721 still has the old padded seats.

User Posted November 21, 2011 Share #15 Posted November 21, 2011 Ah ok, the borrowing makes sense. How long does inspection on the buses usually take and where are the LIB Orion Vs being sent to for inspection?
Amtrak7 Posted November 21, 2011 Share #16 Posted November 21, 2011 Ah ok, the borrowing makes sense. How long does inspection on the buses usually take and where are the LIB Orion Vs being sent to for inspection? The problem is not the inspections themselves, it's that many of the O5's are failing and need to be brought in to MTA Bus depots for repair jobs.
