FlushingExpress Posted December 21, 2008 Share #38 Posted December 21, 2008 i prefer R62/62As over R142/142As because of their symmetrical appearance
Fresh Pond Posted December 23, 2008 Share #39 Posted December 23, 2008 my vote is for the junior hippos (R62/R62A) because they look so tiny, yet powerful.

via White Plains Road Posted December 31, 2008 Share #41 Posted December 31, 2008 When have you ever seen a R62 on the 2 line? It was on the and trains many years ago way before the R-142's came along. I rode a R-62 train from Simpson Street to Pelham Parkway and a R-62 train from President Street to either 125th Street or 3rd Avenue-149th Street ! waynejay Posted February 7, 2009 Share #42 Posted February 7, 2009 R-62 remains my favorite and the R-142A are my next favorite of current equipment. Love the sounds of the R-62, especially at speed and the R-142 accelerating is awesome as well.
R44 5278 Posted February 7, 2009 Share #43 Posted February 7, 2009 To me, the R62s are the R46s on the IRT with their acceleration and reliability.

I rode a R-62 train from Simpson Street to Pelham Parkway and a R-62 train from President Street to either 125th Street or 3rd Avenue-149th Street ! i think it was an R62A, not R62. before the R142/142As arrived, R62s only ran on the . R62As ran on the 1/9, 3, and 6 with occasional appearances on the and . the was entirely redbirds.

KTrainExp Posted March 30, 2009 Share #46 Posted March 30, 2009 To me, the R62s are the R46s on the IRT with their acceleration and reliability. Their reliability FAR outputs the R46. And they accelerate as fast as any train in the system. _____ R142A. Their propulsion is wonderful and they run nice with all that technology! R44 5278 Posted May 30, 2009 Share #50 Posted May 30, 2009 just like those great PULLMAN-STANDARD cars the BOMBADIER R62a cars are a great model. The 3 uses Kawasaki R62 trains with rare R62As as extras. It is the 7 and 1 that uses the R62As for the most part.
