And the winner of time magazine's 2011 person(newsmaker)of the year is?

The PROTESTER.

Mainly the internationally read publication focused on the selection to 2 groups of people. First, those who protested around the Arab world with the so called "Arab Spring" revolution that led to the desime of long time rulers Mubarak & Gaddafi in the middle east. While closer to home, a movement to protest against the power and greed of global banks and other powers that became known as the OWS(Occupy Wall Street). Feel free to agree or not.

it still remains to be seen though what is the end result of both groups of protesters. Does Egypt and Libya get a proper westernized government or do they get jihadist versions of the dictators they took out.

Closer to home, will occupy wall street create a set of reforms that improve life for the lower and middle classes, similar to the labor movement of the turn of the 1900s and the civil rights movement of the 1960s.

Very true foxie. This year other choices for newsmakers could have been also in no order.

1)Wild extreme weather hitting America and much of the world

2)Prince Harry and the former Kate Middleton.

3)Mark Cuban Dallas Mavs Owner

4)The Death of Osama Bin Landen

5)Barack Obama.
