qjtransitmaster Posted December 23, 2011 Share #1 Posted December 23, 2011 Is there a demand for bus service on the rte1/9 corridor south of union city?
busdude2 Posted December 23, 2011 Share #2 Posted December 23, 2011 That could be dangerous on that heavily congested 2 lane each way road in Jersey City. I would not want to stop a bus on it with no room to pull off to the side.
checkmatechamp13 Posted December 23, 2011 Share #3 Posted December 23, 2011 I would say no. It's only a few blocks from JFK Blvd, and the area along Tonnelle Avenue isn't too walkable. Not to mention that there is barely anything to really attract ridership. Look at the street grid: A lot of the streets end a block short of Tonnelle Avenue, so there are very few people where it would actually be closer to walk over to Tonnelle Avenue rather than go over to JFK Blvd for a bus. SirJokaPlaya Posted December 26, 2011 Share #4 Posted December 26, 2011 the way the Tonnelle Ave bus service is, do not change a thing. There is no service needed. its a death trap with all the traffic there. plus, there's nothing really there that needs bus transportation to or from.
