GojiMet86 Posted January 6, 2012 Share #1 Posted January 6, 2012 This is a little project I worked on for a few months. I went to Oak Point Yard in the Bronx to take videos and photos of this unique service. If you want to make the trek there, make sure to bring at least two other people. It's quite a lonely area. I'll post two Amtrak videos and other Oak Point Yard photos in an Amtrak thread. NJ Transit Trains #3137 and #3148 make up the Meadowlands Direct service, a unique service that brings passengers from Connecticut and New York to the Meadowlands Sports Complex. As a result, it is the only NJ Transit service that goes east beyond Penn Station and the only one that goes to Connecticut. It should be noted that a few years back, there were three trips to and from the Complex. Now only #3137 (to the Complex) and #3148 (from the Complex) make the trip. Here's a link to the train schedule I used: http://www.mta.info/mnr/html/yankees/TrainToGame.pdf 11-27-11 12-11-11 12-24-11 Here are a few shots from Oak Point Yard: 12-11-11 11-27-
mfs NJT459 Posted January 6, 2012 Share #2 Posted January 6, 2012 I thought that train deadheads to Morrisville, PA around start time for the game, then deadheads back to Secaucus around 3 PM, then becomes train 3148 after the game.
