How are the (B42) and (B74) alike?

Neither route runs on a highway. They both run (or in the case of the S60, ran) along a the service road of a highway.

* Both were short

* Both were supposed to have weekend service eliminated in 2009

* Both were supposed to be completely eliminated in 2010

* Both neighborhoods were allowed to keep some service when they revised the reductions (the Bx18 was kept completely, and the S60 had the S66 replace it)

* Both serve hilly areas, which was the primary factor in them being kept around.

B42 & B74

* Both run as shuttles from a subway station to a residential neighborhood

* Both are very cost-efficient routes

* Both neighborhoods they serve have express bus service

* Both end by the waterfront

* Both end by a housing project (Not sure of this one. If it's not true, then my fifth one is that neither were threatened by service reductions at any time)

-Both travel from the (E)/(J)/(Z) to the Nassau-Queens border

-Both share much of their travel path with a route with a number higher than itself. (Q30 w/Q31; Q84 w/Q85)

@MTAFanBoy512: The Bx1 is not a 24-7 route.

Both the Q6 and Q25

- are MTA Bus Company routes

- terminate in Jamaica

- have Rush-Hour only Limited service that doesn't run under a reduced weekday schedule

- serve the (E)(J)(Z), LIRR and Airtrain

- are based out of depots named after their non-Jamaica terminals

Very Easy: Relate the M4 and M98 (Again, this is easy, so try to steer clear of 'they connect to X subway line or Y bus line')
