BM5 via Woodhaven Posted January 16, 2012 Share #1 Posted January 16, 2012 I see that in the village, the M8 signs read M8|West Village/ Chelsea However, on other signs read that only West Village Shows, And most commonly in Greenwich Village, M8 signs say West Village and the / and Chelsea Part is taped up. Far Rock Depot Posted January 16, 2012 Share #2 Posted January 16, 2012 i work right on christopher st. i too have noticed this. honestly, i dont know why both are printed on there. only the west ville is served. im assuming those signs my be specifically for the 14a or the 11 even though those are abingdon sq routes. of course, with those specific signs, taping up the chelsea part makes sense and is cheaper than new signs. its no big deal really. like depot stickers on routes who isnt served by said depots. things will be overlooked. Not even here in LES. infact, the last stop, which was on FDR about half a block north of Grand St, was recently move to around the corner on Grand st and it STILL says West Village.
