trainfan22 Posted June 24, 2008 Share #1 Posted June 24, 2008 I decided to railfan rahway today due to the fact that it has more train traffic than edison. It is VERY hard to take pics of trains coming the oppsite direction. Next time when i fan NJ transit i will photograph at linden because its much easier to photograph trains in the opposite direction. Btw can you take pics at the airport station? Also i rode on one of NJT newer cars it had comfy seats but had flat wheels. Well anyways here are the pics...... I took some vids but i will upload those later. Comments are welcome enjoy!! Pablo M 201 Posted June 24, 2008 Share #2 Posted June 24, 2008 Ah damn, more PL42ACs on the Raritan Valley Line. Nice pics. Rahway is a great station for shooting if you know where to stand and shoot photos. Problem with Rahway is sun direction can be picky there. Thanks!! yes it a great station for shooting but its hard to shoot trains in the oppsite direction. For example if you are on the trenton bound platform it very hard to take pics of trains NY bound. metsfan Posted June 26, 2008 Share #11 Posted June 26, 2008 Really nice stuff! Yes, you can take photos of trains at the airtrain rail station, however do not position yourself at all taking shots towards the airport as taking photos of the airport is NOT ALLOWED. The station is monitored by PANYNJ, and they do not mind at all railfanning people. You may be approached by TSA or PANYNJ personnel, just tell them the deal, and you'll be fine, they may ask you for you ID but this is totally and completely routine so don't think twice about it, they are just doing their job. I once spent 4 hours there watching planes land on approach and taking photos and no one bothered me. It might have something to do with the fact that my girlfriend works for the TSA but i doubt it. - Andy
