Cait Sith 9,630 Posted June 25, 2008 Share #1 Posted June 25, 2008 Q8 CUSTOMERSEFFECTIVE SUNDAY, JUNE 29, 2008 The western terminus of the Q8 will be extended to the Gateway Center Mall in Spring Creek, Brooklyn, to provide service from Jamaica, Queens to this large regional shopping center. Westbound, the extended Q8 will travel from its current terminal on Pitkin Avenue at Euclid Avenue via Euclid Avenue, Linden Boulevard, Fountain Avenue, and Seaview Avenue. Eastbound, the Q8 will travel via Seaview Avenue, Erskine Street, Vandalia Avenue, Fountain Avenue, Sutter Avenue, Montauk Avenue, Pitkin Avenue and Forbell Street, resuming its current travel path. Eastbound service to bus stops on Glenmore Avenue (at Crescent Street, Lincoln Avenue and Grant Avenue) will be discontinued, use bus stops on Pitkin Avenue instead. Now with the Q8 being extended, would we be able to see a depot split with spring creek and which ever depot the Q8 is located in? (Far Rockaway or JFK) I've never been to that area of brooklyn or other parts so I dont know how long the trip from jamaica to gateway center would be. Also, the Q8 Needs more buses on that route. The wait time is horrid... And also, there are new bus routes being made for parts of queens, any idea what routes are they and where exactly will they be serving? Cait Sith 9,630 Posted June 26, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted June 26, 2008 Yeah, the trip from jamaica to euclid is long by itself since it mostly travels through 101 Ave. Would it be possible to see a depot split, with extra added buses?
BJC 4 Posted June 26, 2008 Share #4 Posted June 26, 2008 they could add more buses....since this line need something like this to happen....remember some runs still going to end at euclid.
Orion 27 Posted June 27, 2008 Share #5 Posted June 27, 2008 They should remove some stops on the Q8, I see a few on the same exact block! Either way I'm glad this route is getting extended. I got tired of walking to Sutter/Linden.
