Its all pandering, there's a good chance half the ish he says hes knows makes no sense, but its what the ppl want to hear, the ppl at that particular place and state he was in at the time anyway. Bashing the "liberal" east coast "elitists" is just a tactic to fall back on to appease some parts of the conservative republican base.

 

Sure his comments will alienate many people, but they are people who would of never voted for him anyway. He (or any republican) could care less what ny'ers think of them, when was the last time a republican won NY state in a presidential election..
