Today, several 6000s were sighted in Camden today. 6001 was seen on the 452, 6002 was seen on the 413, and 6006 was seen on the 419.

The appearance of the 6000s at Newton Ave means several things:

1]The remaining NOVAS are gone.

2]5567, 5639-40, and 5797-98 will go back to their original depots [Hamilton, Ironbound, and Hilton respectively.]

3]The fate of 5368-74 is up in the air. Will they go to Market St and join their brethren 5375-83, or will they go to Washington Twp to alleviate the bus shortage at that garage, or will they stay where they are.

I guess that Newton will be assigned 6000-6019. That will replace the NOVAS, the 5 buses borrowed from Hamilton, Ironbound and Hilton, and fill out the 4 buses Newton was left short when 5375-83 was sent to Market St. If they move 5368-74, then the 6000 series will go up to 6029.

Maybe then 6030 to 6079 [most likely] will finally go to Egg Harbor to replace their NOVAS [about frakin' time. NJT should forget assigning those 31 footers at Egg Harbor. Send those buses to Morris and to private carriers. The baby RTS are useless, on the 501, they get DANGEROUSLY OVERCROWDED when they do the rounds at the Marina Casinos, especially at shift changes.]

Why does a transit agency the size of New Jersey Transit have 30 foot buses? Those things will fill up so quickly you won't even believe it. I would know we have 18 of them and they can fill up in a heart beat. Many times I would often be standing because of that and 30 foot buses bounce too much.

ugh I hate em so much and so do many others as well.

Well you guys may not get too many 6000s I just read the roster Newton Ave is only supposed to get 6 NABIs because thats how many Novas were at Newton and Egg Harbor is set to get about 24 NABIs if i'm correct.

I saw 6007 today, so Newton will be getting more than 6 NABIs. There were 10 NOVA RTS left over at Newton, so Newton will get at least 10 replacement NABIs. If NJT decides to return 5567,5639-40, and 5797-98 back to their original depots, then the number goes to 15 NABIS, plus Newton was left 4 buses short when 5375-83 was transferred to Market St in Paterson, so that should be 20 NABIs.

We'll see since the deliveries of the 6000s started this weekend. Where the series will end up I will let you know.

today at Lindenwold PATCO, i saw 5201 on the 403 next to a 600# NABI on the 451 that finished it's trip... i almost took a picture on my phone but it was too late

i was on 6002 on my way home on the 455, and i heard some conversation on the radio, something about dropping off the passangers in Camden, deadheading to Philly for the 404 trip to the Cherry Hill Mall... driver of the bus i was on said its been going on for an hour and annoying
